Well, there it is, 6 years after the 1903 Tour de France, let's get the 1904 edition going! This is a Terminator tournament, open to premium 1000+ players, involving 3-6 games.
A brief piece of history: Of course 1903-winner Maurice Garin was present again a year later, immediately winning stage 1 (Paris-Lyon, 467km). His main rival Hippolyte Aucouturier got slammed back, but managed to win the next 4 stages. However after the final finish in Paris, the top 4 of the table were disqualified as rumours were too strong they took the train now and then... However, those 6 stages will be done again in this tournament. Every stage will be simulated by playing 1 Terminator game. After 3 stages, the top 12 will continue to stage 4. Stage 5 will only have 10 players left, and the last stage 6 will have 8 players remaining.
Set up: All players will play 3-6 games, according to the 6 stages of the 1904 TdF. Every game will be Terminator, Sequential, Automatic, No Spoils, Chained, Foggy and with a 20RL. So every stage will consist of several separate multi-player games (5-8 players per game, depending on the total number of sign ups and randomly filled). Stages will start within one week from eachother.
How to win the 1904 Tour de France? Now the scoring part makes this one interesting... Your result in every stage is based on the number of points you win/loose in that specific game. After the games in a stage are finished, every player will have a game score. The player who performed best will be declared stage winner. For every single point you performed worse than the stage winner, you will loose 1 second in the General Classification.
A simple example with 4 players: A won 50 points B won 12 points C lost 15 points D lost 23 points Here player A has won the stage. B took second place, 38 seconds (points) down. C took third place, 1 minute and 5 seconds down. D took 4th place, 1 minute and 13 seconds down. So yes, the higher your current score, the harder it will actually be to win this Tournament!
All players without a kill, alive at the round limit will receive a Game Penalty of 12 points/seconds. To encourage attacking play, in every game you can gain Time Bonification. The first player to make a kill will receive a 20 second bonus, the 2nd player to make a kill will receive 12 seconds bonus and the third player to make a kill will receive 8 seconds bonus. Every player can only take one bonus in every single game. In Stage 6, the final one, all points/seconds will be doubled!
