the hall of fame ballot came out and the names included McGwire, Jay Buhner, and Tony Gwynn among other greats.
does Mark deserve to be in the hall of fame.
if so, why?
if not, why not?
i say no, because, as one journalist put it, "if you don't want to talk about your past, i don't want to consider your past"

I think no. I don't know if he admitted to steroids specifically, but I do remember he said he was on "Performance enhancers", so either way, legal stuff or steroids, he shouldn't be allowed in.

While were on the subject of keeping people from the Hall, why don't we ban Mike Schmidt for admitting to using greenies, and all of the other players from the 1950s-1970s who probably used them. Or maybe we should ban Babe Ruth because he drank during a time when alchohol was illegal. You cant ban someone just because of suspicion of steriod use.

Ahem. Read my post. I remember he admitted to using "performance enhancers" because that was a big deal when he broke the record let alone now.
Secondly, they have evidence that supports that Barry Bonds is taking steroids.

Yes, he should be admitted to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
1. He was a Cardinal.
2. As far as I know, he never took steroids.
3. He is the True Home Run King, Barry Bonds should have his record officially removed, although I do not recognize it anyways.

Was the performance enhancer "creatine?"

Nope. it wasn't Sammy was the one on that, not to mention cork. I also don't really think that matters. If they take something to improve their abilities and are known to have done it, I don't feel they should be on the list.

he admitted to using what are now illegal performance enhancing drugs, but were legal when he took them. legal cheating

the true record holder is Babe Ruth, cuz he's the only one w/o a possible asterisk next to his name
roids

He was on anatestin. U can buy it at gnc. when he was asked back when he was still playing that is what he was taken. he even said he would agree to a drug test back then.
As for the hall of fame. A man that hit over 40 homers in every year including his rookie why should he be stopped. Bonds never hit over 40 until he got roided up

EXACTLY what I was going to say, many enhancers were legal in baseball until 2001, therefore he wasn't cheating even if he did do it

no one belongs in the fame for taking roids

see, i say no, because if we let him in, we let Barry in, and we let Bret Boone in, and we let all these guys in who we have a big feeling they have taken roids, but no evidence, because they won't talk...

Bonds took them far after(and probably still today) they were made illegal in baseball, making him a cheater, and therefore should not be put in the hall of fame and should have his home-run record taken away
McGwire may or may not have taken them while they were still legal, meaning that he never cheated and therefore should be put in the hall of fame and be the single season home-run record holder

it's a good thing the olympic officials didn't use that logic when no one knew what steroids were and the soviet union just 'happened' to perform well
