The two tried to rob of line of people waiting to buy the new gaming console early Friday. They confronted a "bunch of people who were in line" outside a Wal-Mart store shortly after 3 a.m. and demanded money, said Lt. J. Paul Vance, a spokesman for the state police. The new Sony consoles are selling for around $500 to $600.
"One of the patron's resisted. That patron was shot," Vance said.
You know you like your video games too much when you're willing to get shot over money for a PS3
In any event, suffice to say I hope these guys get caught.

i just don't know what to say...

They werent after a PS3, they wanted money...knowing that a good portion of the people in line had $600 in cash to buy one with.

Money, toy whatever they were looking for it wasn't an excuse to kill the guy.

Of course...no murder is. But it was an attempted robbery for
cash. The fact that a PS3 was involved had nothing to do with it...it could haved been people standing in line for concert tickets or the newest tickle-me-elmo, or using an ATM..
They confronted a "bunch of people who were in line" outside a Wal-Mart store shortly after 3 a.m. and demanded money
I just hate when topic headings are sensationalized thats all. Nobody was "shot dead for a PS3".

"shot dead in line for a PS3." The author knew what he was saying.

Nope. He was shot dead
in line for $600. Or for rather not giving up $600. They had no playstations yet...they were still in line!

The customer was in line for PS3, I am not arguing the robber's motives.

Here in Wisconsin, this Wal-Mart only had ten PS3's. And 150 people waiting outside. So the idiot manager puts ten chairs out, on a parking lot, and says, "Whoever can sit down in one of these chairs gets a PS3." He may as well have said, "Five people in the hospital and one in critical condition, please."

Correction guys, he didn't die. He's in the hospital in critical condition.
Either way. Same story. Two whackjobs and a guy clearly too attached to the prospect of a PS3 for his own good.

The english language should shoot you in self-defense.
Countdown to this story being exaggerated and being used to "prove" that video games cause violence in 3....2.....

With some guy pointing a gun at me? Listen friend, I make only about $200 per month in my miserable part-time high school job, but if someone is pointing a gun at me, three months pay suddenly would become far less important.
