I own at least a dozen....I hunt chukar recreationally (we eat the birds we harvest).....I love target shooting......I always have a pistol on me when riding / camping / playing in the woods / travelling because there are so many whack jobs in the world...especially with this crank problem going on. I also will protect the sanctity of my home and the well being of my children should any crazed crankster (or any other burgler) decides what is mine should be theirs. I was raised in this manner, as was my father and as I am raising my sons....safety and respect for the weapons is tantamount......guess thats it.

How gun crazy? Very. I imagine that your local media is very correct.

People own guns for the same reason they climb mountains, Because they can.

I own more than a dozen and I use them to shoot other people, why else would I own a gun?

Why is it called "crazy" to own a gun, when in reality, it is crazy not to? :D

... I own 4. A target 22 Ruger, a 9mm semi-auto (pistol), an antique ball & cap pistol, and a shotgun (20 g).

... I inherited all of them from my father, but grew up shooting (cans and targets) on my grandad's farm.

... None of those guns are with me now that I live in Japan. I don't really miss them, as this is probably the safest country on the planet.

I'll give my opinion. Why not? It's free.

I think guns should not exist. You can kill stuff many ways with no gun.

Since that can't be, I think it's fine for people like me to have them to defend against people that should not.

Own a rifle for hunting moose and deer, keep it locked in a gun safe with a trigger lock on the gun, I ALWAYS make sure my gun is empty and has a trigger lock on it before i lock it in the safe

I have guns (yes, plural) I was raised in the country, learning to shoot since I was 10 or so, and it has come in handy on many occasions. I've had my fair share of encounters with rabid animals, and on one occasion when my first husband worked the night shift someone tried to break into my house while I was there alone with my infant son. I shot out an open window (into nothing, just a warning) then let the dogs out. They came back with part of someone's pants.

Seriously, the media just wants America to sound bad. Even the Aerican media!!! why? Because it gets more attention then saying something that goes right.

I personally don't own any guns, but my father has several, and I love shooting (targets) especially handguns. I have a cousing who competes in handgun shooting competitions and he set up a course down inside a deep arroyo (so bullets wouldn't fly out) If you like guns and shooting guns, you should look into this. It's fun.

pole is just a better spelling for poll

poll is never an option

Hendy is a cunt was ruined by utafar and over use because it doesnt have gfy's staying power

and utafar is a jizz dribble was never one and its one utafar made up because he wanted to fit in.

Yeah, that's very true, but it doesn't change the statistics that we have more shooting deaths than pretty much every other country.

"England, where no one has guns, fffffffourteen deaths. United States, and I think you know how we feel about guns-woooo, I'm getting a stiffy - twenty-three thousand deaths from handguns. But there's no connection, and you'd be a fool and a Communist to make one!"
Bill Hicks RIP

BUT It's not that simple, though i wish it were. Guns are everywhere in the US, they are a part of life there in a way that is difficult for Europeans to understand. Enshrined in the constitution, just like prohibition was.

I choose not to own a personal hand gun (although my career requires me to quailfy with a .28 special every year) I see no need for owning a revolver as I live in a low crime area. I don't have a problem with law abiding citizens owning guns. I don't know what the penalties for being in possesion of an unregistered gun are but they might make the penalties harsher for those having guns who shouldn't have them.

I have several.

WHY???

Because as an american I feel it is my duty to have one.

As an american who abides by the constitution, it is my duty to have a weapon available to me for any of the following reasons.

To protect my family and friends.
To protect my country from mean evil people around the world.
To protect nice people around the world from my country.

I could go on and on, but as I have answered your question I will stop.
