What does President Trump do NOW?

Postby jusplay4fun on Thu Nov 07, 2024 1:04 am

Now that President Trump wins the White House, what happens NOW?

What are Trump's major policy objectives?

What are the Executive Orders that Trump sign on Day One? (I think Biden signed 17 on his Day One.)

What bills can Trump get passed by Congress? To me, this is the most important. (What people forget is that the Senate still has the 60 votes needed to cut off a filibuster, so there is no Party guarantee that ANY bill will get passed.) These take time and Trump will have about 16-20 monthes to get something meaningful done until the NEXT Election cycle will put a halt to major initiatives.

Some of my major concerns are:

What does Trump do to economically to help the average or common working person?

How does Trump stop the loss of jobs, especially good-paying manufacturing jobs?

How does Trump deal with Inflation?

What does Trump do about tax cuts and who benefits?

The Border (you know which one)

How far does his planned Mass Deportations go? I hope he focuses nearly exclusively on criminals, terrorists, and mental patients (we have enough US citizens who need mental help, and that does not count the Dems and Libs who are depressed over the Election Results). Most immigrants are hard-working folks trying to help their families.

What does Trump do to stop much of this Transgender STOOOPIDITY?

What does Trump do to stop DEI?

How far does Trump go to cut back on Big Government?

I am sure there are more, but these are what come to mind now. I pray that President Trump WISELY lead us forward. I think too that the assassination attempt has changed his outlook on his 2nd term as President, for the better.

And for those who predict the demise of the Democrat Party, they take a narrow and only short-term and thus incorrect view.

He just announced he's extending the 250th anniversary of independence in 2026 from one day to one year. There will be a fair in Iowa (?!) and each of the 50 states will be required to contribute a pavilion "to showcase the glory of the Union."

Why Iowa? That wasn't explained but I guess it's as good as anywhere. This does seem a little odd to make this the very first policy, if I'm being honest. But his complete randomness is part of why people love him.

When Biden took office, one of the first things he did was ban Trump from receiving security briefings like all former presidents receive. I hope Trump returns the favor.

Why would Biden NEED them? Oh, right, so he can keep getting bribe money from Ukraine and China.

One of the reasons we have the world’s reserve currency is we collect and publish so much data. Sadly, much of it is revised and revised again a year later. It has become expected to doubt them. Maybe Elon or Vivek can set a higher standard or even realtime numbers.

I also think the market should set interest rates. The Fed should get out of that business and just collect and report data.

100% disagree strongly with Trump’s campaign idea that he the President should set interest rates.

Amazing.

There can only be one president at a time ... and Trump apparently has already taken over from Joe's corpse.

Did you see Thomas Massie is frontrunner for SecAg? I think -- hope -- Israel is about to get a rude surprise.

The Jews have tons of money. The Israel Country Club (No Goyim admitted) should at very least be 100% privately funded.

Here's who Politico is saying are frontrunners for the cabinet ---

Secretary of State
Ric Grennel
Bill Haggerty
Robert O'Brien
Marco Rubo

Secretary of the Treasury
Howard Lutnick
Robert Lightizer
Jay Clayton
Larry Kudlow
John Paulson

Secretary of Defense
Mike Waltz
Tom Cotton
Mike Pompeo

Attorney General
Jeff Clark
Mike Lee
John Ratcliffe

https://www.politico.com/interactives/2 ... m-cabinet/

For State, I'm good with Ric Grennel but I question whether that'll happen. Absolutely opposed to Marco Rubio. I have faith Trump will go with Grennel. Supposedly, when Grennel was ambassador to Germany, Trump would always call him "my beautiful Ric" and would talk about how handsome he was and call in aides to discuss how beautiful Ric looked.

For Defense, I hate all these choices. It should go to Christopher Miller.

For Attorney-General, it should be Jeff Clarke since he's currently under indictment in Georgia by Fani Willis and never tried to get a deal or turn evidence against the Boss. That means he's (a) proved absolute loyalty to Trump, (b) will have a personal interest in using the entire power of the DOJ to punish Willis for what she tried to do.

FIRST APPOINTMENT

Chief of Staff - Susie Wiles

Wiles will become the first female to ever serve as Chief of Staff to the President.

Image

On the campaign, Wiles was able to do what few others have been able to: help control Trump’s impulses — not by chiding him or lecturing, but by earning his respect and showing him that he was better off when he followed her advice than flouting it.

Wiles was seen by Trump aides as someone who could guide his moods and impulses without necessarily restraining him. Trump often referenced Wiles on the campaign trail, publicly praising her leadership of what he said he was often told was his “best-run campaign.”

“She’s incredible. Incredible,” he said at a Milwaukee rally earlier this month,

At a rally in Pennsylvania where Trump made one of his last appearances before the election, he launched into a profane and conspiracy-laden speech. Wiles was spotted standing offstage appearing to glare at him.

Later, at a rally in Pittsburgh, Trump seemed to acknowledge his adviser’s’ efforts to keep him on message.

President Trump's personal attorney just said that if NY Attorney-General Letitia James continues with her shenanigans they'll "put her fat ass in prison."

I hope President Trump concentrates on Economic policy matters, including wise immigration reforms. He can do some things via Executive Order, but getting bills through the Congress is more important and longer lasting. I think that Trump is putting too much emphasis on Tariffs.

I think I said it already: deportation of illegal immigrants should focus on criminals and mentally ill. Most are here for economic opportunity and those folks contribute much to the country economically. Most Hispanics are hard-working and are very family oriented. (As I said, I know many such folks at my Church.) I think this family emphasis is one reason why so many Hispanics voted for Trump. The Democrats were too radical by supporting Transgender and DEI matters.

There is discussion about the Supreme Court; yes, that is important, but it is more important to me to keep a more balanced one and not an ideological right-wing and right-leaning (Conservative) Court.

I hope that he does little political retribution. I think he will try to use the political cover of reform to attack some of his political enemies within the Federal Bureaucracy and that will be mostly a big mistake, imo.

I think he can accomplish more with cooperation (with the Congress and with less radical Democrats) and should focus less on retribution and revenge. However, I think Trump is too petty to avoid all such retributions.

I have a strong inclination to think that that Joe Biden received bribes from Ukraine and China and that dictated some of his foreign policy. I would advise Trump to avoid retribution here. I think Hunter Biden needs to be prosecuted for his crimes and that may be sufficient retribution. Attacking Joe Biden directly would be a mistake, imo.

I have to admit that I was not aware of the allegation by Duk of Trump laundering Russian money; that may be true, but I have not seen (nor read) much coverage of this allegation. I think his political enemies would have attacked Trump more for this if the evidence were more solid. This may be one reason why Trump never released his financial records during his first term.

The country and Congress may be too polarized for some meaningful reforms, but we need to try.

Update:
Election 2024 recap: An updated tally on final House races as they're called
Democrats had 199 House seats while Republicans had claimed 212 by Friday evening, according to the Associated Press, with 218 needed for control.

Having second thoughts, eh?

Yeah, I don't think that there will be much attempt to separate hardworking immigrants from the parasitical ones. They will get tarred with the same brush.

I'm hoping for some rationality from at least a few of the Republican Senators. Maybe they will find a compromise that will moderated Trump's pogrom. But there will be a lot of misery and suffering until that happens.

HUGE NEWS!

Trump just said Mike Pompeo and Nikki Haley will never be part of his Administration! Combined with the appointment of Thomas Massey to SecAg, this spells the potential for one of the most Israel-skeptical regimes in modern American history!

https://x.com/disclosetv/status/1855393 ... 53/photo/1

Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal reports Trump will declare a State of Emergency minutes after he takes the oath of office and begin military mobilization to effect the mass deportation. And Trump is now also saying he will issue an Executive Order to end birthright citizenship on day one!

https://www.wsj.com/politics/policy/tru ... n-348eaa91

Canada is taking it seriously!

The public safety minister, Dominic LeBlanc, told reporters that both the Royal Canadian Mounted police and the country’s border services were “ready for any eventuality”, adding that contingency plans had been in place for “several months”.

The foreign guest worker program intakes 450,000 of the approximately 900,000 immigrant agricultural workers the U.S. uses annually. And it only has a 1% visa overstay rate. Trump has said he supports the foreign guest worker program. Those 450,000 have nothing to worry about as they're not here illegally; they work the growing season and then return to their home countries after five months.

The other 450,000 do have something to worry about, regardless of how hard they work. In the short-term there may be a marginal increase in the cost of food to account for lost labor, but that should stabilize within the next 2-3 years as new automation technologies come online.

Second thoughts? NO, I have always thought so.

And yes, I am concerned that Trump will TRY to go too far with Mass Deportations. He will be opposed by many lawyers for the immigrants. As I said, if Trump focuses on criminals, that will meet with 1) my approval, and
2) MORE importantly, less opposition by most folks. SO, yes, I hope for some rationality.

Just wondering, but how exactly do you physically get these people out of the country?
There has to be agreements in place with countries to accept them, and without passports it can take forever to actually prove what country they were born in/have nationality of.
China for instance can take 12 months to issue a temporary passport, and that's when the person provides all their details and accepts going back.
I'm assuming they aren't all getting taken to the southern border and shoved across to Mexico!

Add to that the way the courts work in America (Just see Trump for how long you can keep appealing everything) and are you going to have huge immigrant camps for years whilst trying to get these people out of the country?
