United Kingdom Labour Party wins General Election. Keir Starmer to be appointed Prime Minister.

This was a huge landslide victory against the Conservatives who saw themselves holding the smallest minority ever. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has resigned and has apologized to his Party members.

At least the Conservatives in UK believe in a peaceful transfer of power.

Yeah, post-Imperial Britain is kinda apathetic that way.

Labour got 34% of the vote.

Conservatives, DUP, and Reform collectively got 36% of the vote.

IOW, despite 14 years of largely incompetent Conservative rule, Labour only managed to win because the British right split itself with a protest vote.

With barely 1/3 popular support, it's gonna be a very rough term for Labour.

Pack Rat is absolutely thrilled the UK has replaced their young, Asian prime minister with an old white man!

Yeah, they got 1/3 of the popular vote and that gave them 2/3 of the seats in Parliament. Triumph of democracy right there.

The joke is that at the last election Jeremy Corbyn got 32% of the popular vote and was castigated for being an extremist socialist that no one wanted to vote for. But now that Starmer has 'transformed' the party and made it mega popular, he's added a whole 2% to their support.

Jolly-ho! Isn't he fab? ...and a likely shoo-in as the next James Bond, I reckon.
