Biden Trials

Postby saxitoxin on Fri May 31, 2024 2:45 am

Here's the official thread on the historic Biden trials. The first one (gun running) is set to begin next week.

The criminal trial of Hunter Biden on gun charges kicks off next week, with federal prosecutors likely to dissect lurid details of his crack cocaine addiction that could provide fuel for opponents of his father's presidential reelection bid.

Hunter Biden will be the first child of a sitting president to be a criminal defendant when jury selection begins on Monday. If convicted on all charges, Hunter Biden faces a maximum punishment of 25 years in prison, according to the Department of Justice.

The trial comes as Joe Biden, a Democrat, is campaigning for a second four-year term but is struggling to generate voter enthusiasm due to inflation, wars in the Middle East and Ukraine and concerns about his age. Biden, 81, is the oldest U.S. president.

Biden Jr's sordid crimes are far too debased and revolting to even write about...

Just post those hilariously embarassing photos of him instead. You know the ones.

Fun Idea! Make up some new Hunter pics using AI. You're so talented at that.

But poor Hunter, no way he gets a fair trial.
This is a WITCHHUNT by some republican THUGS funded by the federalist society.
Soooo RIGGED.
But he surely wins on appeal or at the SCOTUS, 100%.
And a guilty verdict will only hand the black voters and the election back to old Joe.

Or is it just Law and order in action? Hmmm

The 2 judges overseeing Hunter Biden’s trials have a lot in common. For starters, they were both appointed by Trump.

Here's where we're at so far in the first of the two Biden criminal trials.

For conviction on count 1 (lying on a federal form), Hunter needs to have known he was addicted to illegal drugs in October 2018. For conviction on count 2 (lying on a federal form), Hunter needs to know he was an active user of illegal drugs in October 2018. Conviction on count 3 (illegal possession of a firearm) logically follows a conviction on either of the first two counts.

- Witness 1, Hallie Biden, Hunter's sister-in-law with whom he had a sexual affair after his brother was stricken with cancer, testified she:
    - Found a crack pipe in her house on July 3, 2015 and, when she confronted Hunter with it, he said it was his.
    - Discovered drug accessories in Hunter's car five different times from 2015 to 2019, though not in October 2018.

- Witness 2, Zoe Kestan, one of the abused prostitutes Hunter was fucking, testified she:
    - Saw him smoke crack an average of twice each hour during a week she was compelled to party with the Biden Family princeling in December 2017.
    - Saw him smoke crack in May 2018.
    - Saw him in possession of crack in November 2018.

- Witness 3, Erika Jensen, an FBI special agent, testified that:
    - In October 2018 Hunter withdrew $50,000 in cash from his bank account and drug dealers typically require cash payments for drugs
    - The day after he bought the gun, he sent a text message to a friend that said he was "sleeping on a car smoking crack on 4th street and Rodney"

- Evidence 1, the audiobook of Hunter Biden's published memoir which he narrated in his own voice and in which he says he was a "heavy user" of cocaine in the Autumn of 2018.

The prosecution will call more witnesses tomorrow.

I'm reading sentencing is in September which means Old Joe will have to see his only non-dead son in leg irons and a prison cell, or take the political hit by pardoning him before the election. It may be more than this frail and fading 82 year-old war criminal can bear.

Questioning the law here. Is being addicted, but not convicted or even charged, grounds to make you now unable to do something?

I understand if you are a convicted drunk driver you won't be able to get a license. This is, if you are addicted to xyz (never been charged) then no gun purchases.

This is why the verdict is so delicious. His appeal is going to seek to overturn the grounds of his conviction for violation of his 2nd Amendment rights.

If he loses, he goes to prison.

If he wins, lawyers that his dad - Joe Biden - is personally paying for will have just caused one of the most significant national rollbacks of firearms regulations in history.
It's not enough for Old Joe to be hated by the right. For his reputation to be trashed for eternity, he needs to be reviled by his own supporters, as well.

Hunter Biden found guilty of illegally buying and owning a gun

Hunter Biden, the president's son, was convicted Tuesday of illegally buying and owning a gun while he was addicted to crack cocaine.

The guilty verdict, handed down by a federal jury in Delaware after about three hours of deliberations, capped a week-long trial in which prosecutors elicited testimony from Biden's ex-wife, an ex-girlfriend and his sister-in-law turned lover, who all spoke in graphic detail about his addiction to drugs and alcohol, with First Lady Jill Biden often sitting in the front row.

IDK. We don't have polling data yet.

My hope is that Hunter will get his conviction overturned on appeal, resulting in a widespread rollback of pre-application restrictions on firearms purchases in the United States. Seeing him in a prison cell for a year or two doesn't begin to do the kind of damage that would be done if his father -- who has crafted his reputation calling for increased firearms restrictions -- ends up personally financing a legal effort that leads to the most significant repeal of firearms regulation in the U.S. in 30 years.

Special Counsel Weiss just took a victory lap -- the team will now be departing Delaware for California where they'll continue prosecuting the Bidens on the myriad charges that still await. He ends his statement with the uplifting note: "Our work continues." Weiss and his team will not rest until every member of the Biden family, including the 7 year old granddaughter, is in the worst federal dungeon the Bureau of Prisons operates.

It's 2024 and the only Special Counsel who has secured a conviction -- or even a trial -- against anyone in the whole United States did so against someone named Biden.

Stupid trial and no one cares but rabid MAGAs.

The case against Mr. Biden is unusual, and not just because he is the son of a sitting president.
People accused of lying on a federal firearms application are typically not indicted on that charge alone, making Mr. Biden’s case unusual in that it would rarely reach a jury.

Typically, it would be part of a suite of charges that include a more serious crime. In many cases, people facing those charges negotiate deals for probation and participation in programs that include counseling and regular drug testing.

There are fewer than about 300 prosecutions a year for lying to a federally licensed firearms dealer. Some 25 million to 30 million background checks were performed annually around the time of Mr. Biden’s gun purchase.

He is guilty, so?

I would argue the conviction of Hunter Biden is significant for three reasons:

A) See the post just before yours, GaryD, by Saxitoxin. That post puts some significance on the conviction.

B) This trial introduced evidence from the infamous laptop. That evidence can be signficant proving the Biden Family enterprise of bribery.

C) There will be more trials of Hunter and this is merely the first step.

We now have documented, via conviction, what a loser of a human Hunter is. AND of course a liberal like YOU would be so dismissive of this verdict. NO surprise on either of these points.

Cool! See:

The charges against Trump are obscure, and nearly entirely unprecedented. In fact, no state prosecutor — in New York, or Wyoming, or anywhere — has ever charged federal election laws as a direct or predicate state crime, against anyone, for anything. None. Ever. Even putting aside the specifics of election law, the Manhattan DA itself almost never brings any case in which falsification of business records is the only charge.
