We are down to the Final Four (best of 7 series) in both the NHL and NBA.
Does anyone want to comment?
NBA:
Boston vs. Indiana
Dallas vs. Minnesota
NHL
NY Rangers vs. Florida
Edmonton vs. Dallas
I would like to see a Canadian team in the Stanley Cup Finals. Let's go Oilers..!

Thanks, Duk. And you are the ONLY Reply, which I find sad. Oh Well....
Updates for Sunday, 5/26/24
NBA:
Boston vs. Indiana Boston up 3-0; 1st and 3rd games were close
Dallas vs. Minnesota Dallas up 2-0; game 3 TODAY
NHL
NY Rangers vs. Florida (1-1)
Edmonton vs. Dallas (1-1)

Updates:
NBA Boston Celtics up 2-0 on the Mavericks as the action switches to Dallas; games Wed. and Fri. this week.
NHL: Edmonton Oilers lost the opening game of the Stanley Cup Finals to Florida 3-0; they play tonight again in Florida.
A Spaniard wins the French Open (Tennis); also this weekend: lots golf and auto racing AND the Belmont Stakes.
I conclude that CC posters here would rather argue politics and other issues and prefer to ignore sports.

Well, sure, if you present it like that.
Have you considered posting some
AI-generated 'Sports Art'.
That's always a crowd-pleaser.

There are tried and proven methods when it comes to advertising and generating interest.

Both genders enjoy images of attractive people of the opposite sex.
Men are a little more visually oriented than women, while women have stronger reactions to their other senses, but only to a degree.
And yes, the world needs more images that make people smile, if only for a few seconds, rather than the endless series of 2-minute hates that we are often exposed to.

Besides, cheerleading is a sport, well, ...sort-of a dance-sport combination.

I hear you Duk but the history of women portrayed like this dates back to the 1500's (in western art and visual language) I appreciate the taking the break part but the image just perpetuates a crappy sterotype that little girls feel they have to aspire to and that is why I made the comment. If youre a reader pick up a copy of "Ways of Seeing" by John Berger. Its old but its a good primer. Its also based on a bbc show so you can find the shows on youtube

Boston is now up on Dallas in the NBA Finals 3-0 and is on the verge of Championship #18, putting them one ahead of the L.A. Lakers with the most NBA Titles.
Btw: RIP Jerry West
For the Stanley Cup, Florida goes to Edmonton, up 2-0 and they play tonight.

Boston wins #18 in the series 4-1 (games).
For Lord Stanley's Cup: Game 7....!.....Monday Night (in Florida). Edmonton has come back from being down 0-3. Will this be a repeat of 1942?

I will change this tread for the NEXT great sporting event on my Calendar,
The Paris Olympics.
I see sports draws LOTS of comments here in CC Land.

So, for a finals series, the 1942 Toronto team stands alone:
In the history of these leagues, teams that were down 3–0 in a series have come back to win the series five times; four times in the NHL and once in MLB.[4] The most recent example is the Los Angeles Kings of the NHL in the 2014 Stanley Cup playoffs.[5] The only instance in the MLB to date was by the Boston Red Sox in the 2004 American League Championship Series.[6] The only instance in a championship finals series was by the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1942 Stanley Cup Finals. The NBA is the only league in which this has never happened, to date.[7]
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_teams_that_have_overcome_3%E2%80%930_series_deficitsMy one regret was that I failed to watch the Red Sox in 2004; I kept saying NO WAY (and I did not want to suffer the heartache of such a loss. I was wrong for that event.)
2004 Red Sox:
The Red Sox went on to sweep the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series, winning their first World Series championship in 86 years and ending the so-called Curse of the Bambino.

Let's try this; what about futbol (or, in America, soccer):
UEFA European Championship
now into the "knockout rounds" as preliminaries are done; I think their are 16 teams (nations) left
Copa América
Still in the preliminary/group play
The USA plays Panama today at 6 EDT. This is a good "pre-game" before the "Big Debate."

Here is another disappointment as the US Men's National Team (for soccer/futbol) loses the game they needed to win for the USA to get to the "knock out" Rounds. The Team is eliminated.

I'm not a sports fan, but I appreciate your thread
Just to participate, I recently learned an easy and inexpensive method of camouflage painting one's sporting goods...here's a pic of one of my toys I tested it on. I painted the receiver and the barrel. The rest I wrapped...happy with the results! Gonna do it on a carbine I just picked up too....

Jp4fun...Make it the Official Olympic Thread...
--------- So, I laugh at people say Cheerleading is a sport... ...I always say...Chess is a sport... ...
--------- Oh, My, GOD...Break Dancing... ....O.K., Then I say...R.I.S.K. is a sport...I know Conquer Club...Has it's own Olympics....
-------- But The Game of R.I.S.K. needs to be recognized as an Official Sport...At the 2024 A.D. Paris Olympics...What a better way to Honor the maker of R.I.S.K. ,in his home country... Albert Lamorisse... ......
ConfederateSS.out!(The Blue and Silver Rebellion)...
--------
The 1996 A.D. Olympics...Turned me off on Team USA...Not the bombing in Atlanta...It was like Trump would say Fake News...Or the fact Americans think they are GOD's gift to the world...That is why Americans are hated everywhere...That is how they act...
-------- The media is no exception...Like CBC ... channel 9...That is where I would watch Olympic coverage... Canada would show non stop Olympic coverage...They would have a separate show , to show case their athletes...Oh, not NBC/America...Cute stories, an hour long, like every hour... During the morning, afternoon,night...Like, this girl swimmer, sleeps with her teddy bear...Who is she...RADAR from...M.A.S.H...etc. story after story...Switch over to CBC...They show ...Target shooting, rowing, events NBC would never show... Because, Katie Curic is up your Ass all day with stories...
-------- Let's go to an event coverage...The Woman's Marathon....An Ethiopian Woman Won the Marathon... Everyone is over interview her...Well almost everyone...Not American media... Especially NBC...They waited for the 1st American to cross the finish line...17th place... Interview her...Then they went over to the Ethiopian Woman Winner...If I was her , I would of just walked away from American reporters...The coverage over the years have been far worse...It is O.K. to support your country...But American media doesn't need to shove it down your throat......

I agree, and let's enjoy the games and the competition and keep most of the POLITICS OUT. (Politics can ruin LOTS of things, and the Olympics have seen their share of POLITICS interfering with The Games.)

I told my wife that I think I have watched more soccer/futbol today than any day ever. I watched both Euro games go to the Extra Time 30 minutes (Spain beat Germany) and watched Portugal in loaw game #2 today (to France) on PKs. And watched the PK in the Argentina game win in Copa America last night (vs. Ecuador), too. Tonight Canada vs. Venezuela at 9 pm, EDT. That has been fun.
btw: 3 weeks to the Paris Olympics.
