Nobody?

Throg's Neck bridge was intentionally spelled with only one "g" to save paint on signs.

So then this thread isn't about this?
Throgg, called the "King of the Trolls," and also once known as "Wintertooth," is among the most unnaturally intelligent of the vile race of Trolls as a result of the gifts offered by the Chaos Gods. He is intent on bringing the mortal world under the rule of a new ice age with himself at its head.

At first I assumed you were making some obtuse reference to trolling... always a strong meta-issue on the Forums.

It wasn't intended to be about the king of trolls but, I expected someone else to bring us that Google hit. Then explain they knew it before, even though they couldn't explain it without a copy paste.

Posting my intentions to circulate this word on social media going forward, as a salacious act.
"Yo baby, wanna throgg?"
Give it 18 months - 2 years, and someone will trace it back to 2Dimes and give him unlimited net street cred
You're welcome in advance

Thanks Lonous.

One source [I forget now, but I think it was Wikipedia] stated a Dutch guy named the place but did not explain the origin of Throgg.

That's why I was wondering if it was some particular Dutch thing?

I just found a reporter who said it was an English persons name.

The chowder at Patty's On a The Bay certainly sounds good.
