What's wrong? Everything. The bicameral congress, the electoral college, the process by which a bill become a law (basically gutting it and attaching numerous useless amendments and programs).

How can we fix it? Start over. Strip everything away but the Constitution and start over again.

Umm foreigners are welcome as long as it is constructive. Please no "OMg Your mom is a whore lolz!".

America's problem is that it is way to controlling. Since the Soviets fell, nobody has been there to control us in our actions. We do whatever we want in the world.

Also, lobbyists are controlling the Senate, telling politicians what to do, what not to do, all so that their companies can make more money, not so that they benefit the American people. It's just too capitalist. God damnit.

Here's something interesting: Bush wants our economy to go up. So he cuts taxes. To the rich. But here's the thing - the rich have too much money to spend. So they end up accumalating this money. Instead of giving the money to the poor, who would spend it on something they need, the money goes to the rich, who keep it. This leads to a weaker economy.

Where is the logic in that?

its not logical thats the problem

Since im still in high school & dont yet have a steady grip on politics the only thing i can really comment on in the 'No Child Left Behind' act holding back many American students back from their whole potential...we are going to be one dumb country in about 30 years

Nothing short of a violent revolution can make a legitimate or serious change at this point. Otherwise it'll just be a bounce from one political agenda to another every generation or so, as it has been doing for the past 150 years.

Change the economy by exporting non-Christians and importing more Christians.

All of our teachers complain about No child left behind. All we study for is tests. Yey we pass the test and probably have exceeding scores. But then half the class has a 5th grade reading level.

Both of which is wishful, if not dangerous, thinking. A strong President is what we had for the past 6 years, and look where that has led us.

bush isnt strong. i mean someone who doesnt care about being re-elected. a good president would never get relected unless the majority of the people see that certain popular things are stupid

Oh yes, the poor would so definitely use the money for better things then us snobby rich people. Yeah, i can just see them goin out and getting a private school education, or puttting it in a savings fund. No, they would just spend it on some freakin drugs or alcohol. And the rich are so evil by actually saving money?????? oh dear. They're not gonna be rich long with 30 to 40% tax rates. There will be no upper class.

So in ur opinion, us giving more money to drug additcted hobos will boost our ecoconomy. Why didnt our top analysts think of that?

what do i think is wrong... i think the people getting on our backs for retaliating against people who hit us...

granted we need to get rid of the corruption... but people are stupid, the reason why, because we get the people who are corrupt, who lie (most politicians... i know but there are some that are not..) and who steal, to get in, and that is wrong...

there was a line in a movie Men In Black

J asks K why they do not let the world know of aliens, he says that people are smart and could handle it, K turns around and says
"a person is smart, people are stupid, panicky and in general violent"

i do believe that holds quite true, America needs to think before it acts, not all one voice yell out the same thing and hope for the best, America needs to think ahead, needs to agree, but we as Americans, we are too numerous to count, to many voices, so we need to get rid of the corruption, but also we need people who will keep their words when they promise something...

and Americans, need to stop pussy footing around when it comes to retaliating.....

I seriously doubt any American was all like "no, don't do anything about 9/11, they should get away with it" but as soon as something starts to happen, as soon as we take action and some other countries call us on it and say "thats not right", well some Americans turned around and suddenly didint want anything to do with it...

It was not right for us to be attacked when we have done nothing to the people who hit us... it was not right when Saddam did mass genocide... i believe what we did was right

Russians and the French... they opposed us.. well think about it.. we found Russian MIG jets, with French technology in them... i wonder why they opposed us?

also, we gave them 4 years before we went in to search for the weapons.. the people who were searching the buildings were getting told to come back later over and over... throughout the 4 years...

give me 4 years to hide something, i bet i can do it...

the reason why i bring the last parts up, about saddam and middle east, well that is because that is the biggest reason why most Americans have a prob with their own government, and the biggest reason why other people have a prob with us, because we have the "audacity" to take action against those who do us wrong...

blow me, because if you hurt my family, my friends who i consider my family, if i have the ability, if i have the means to do it, i will hit you back for what you did...

besides, dose not the constitution, somewhere in it, dose it not say that they should right the wrong if they do see a wrong and have the means to right it..

id like to think it does... because America was born through a revolution that started because the people viewed what England was doing to them was a wrong.... the over taxation was wrong, the forced housing of troops was wrong.... the Constitution and the bill of rights, id like to think were made to make sure that no wrong was to come to the people of the country...

killing people of my country, is doing wrong, and if my country has the ability to find you, and kill you, and anyone that helps you to kill more of my countrymen... well your dead and so are they...

I recently had to give a mock election speech for a class, And here are some of the points I brought up to fix America

Immigration: I believe Illeagal immigration is a huge problem. Illeagals coming across our borders hurt our economy and overpopulate America. Unfortunatly, neither party seems in a big rush to do anuthing about it, because the Republicans want the cheap Labor, and the Dems want the votes.
Solutions: Make employing illeagal immigrants a felony
Ammend the Constitution so children born in America aren't American citizens
Threaten Tariffs and embargos on Mexican Products so they help out on their side of the borders

Energy: Energy is a huge American problem, for reasons already known
Solutions: DRILL IN ANWAR GOD DAMMIT!
refine coal to oil
put more money into Ethanol research, if we gota man on the moon in less than 10 years, we should be able to get Ethanal working just as quicly
Make a national Oil Blend
Build more American Refineries

Naional Debt: Cut the growth rate of social programs in half. The National Debt will be gone in about 20 years if current economic trends hold
Cut taxes, esp. ones on Small Business

Education: Let the States run their own education system. Withold Federal Highway Money if they don't have a certain High School Graduation Rate.
Make all kids test at 12th grade levels to be able to graduate from High School

Socially: In our society people like to blame other people for their own problems, hence lawsuits. That needs to be fixed.

Basically, none of these reforms I mentioned will happen unless a third Paty comes up. I am hoping that happens within the next 20 years, or else we might need Jessies Revolution
I Wont comment about Foreign Issues in this thread because I feel that "fixing" America has to do with internal issues
