I'd say as of right now the list goes

1. CC or Landgrab
2. GS
3. W@W

Basically CC and landgrab are very user friendly.. Landgrab provides a much better gameplay and more options..CC is fun and all but it simply is not the same as real risk and isnt quite as good, but in the community and maps aspect it rocks..

As for GS, I would have to say that BEING THAT IT IS A DIRECT RIPOFF OF CC IN EVERY ASPECT which is true... game play options all of that.. and not being as good it has to be behind landgrab and cc...and w@w bites big time.

Why do you spend so much time here if you think landgrab is better?

did i say landgrab was better? no I said they both have thier pros and cons and that id say over all they are equal.

GS however and I know it is new is below both of them.. mainly because it is new.. sub mainly because it is a direct rip off of cc and doesnt have its own uniqueness at all

I dont see what the point of restricing yourself to one website is. I was going to play at all 4 but gs isnt impressing me and w@w blows.

I'd be interested to hear what I improve on the GS interface to make it more user friendly. I certainly have a lot of ideas to will be implemented soon:

Drag and Drop for attacking
Next and Previous Game buttons on the play game page

For real time games, there is no comparison, GS is simply head and shoulders above CC. CC can be quite slow. CC is based on phpBB code, requires complete screen refresh to do everything. Simply sending a PM in CC can take loads of time.

Just yesterday I put in autofills on the drop downs for attacking. You select the country to attack from and only the countries that you can attack appear in the other drop down. That's a huge user friendly upgrade over CC.

In 4 weeks since public release I feel I have the vast majority of CC core gameplay features, and I have added some things that CC doesn't have. I'll be adding things like the ability to pause a game (if all of the players agree). I mean, why isn't that in CC?

Now there's still many features in CC that are lacking in GS. Lack has done great work on CC. If there wasn't a CC there wouldn't be a GS.

Why not?

A group of friends in playing a game. Spring break rolls around. They all down to Mexico for 4 days. Why shouldn't they be able to pause their game?

Well its not too hard getting internet access these days.. you could modify turn skip limits availability.. like landgrab has.. I think if you went to landgrab you could find many options cc lacks in that might interest you.

oh and by the way.. your dice were way to mean to me.

I've been there. They have many nice game play options. The site is even looking better.

I'll be picking and choosing a few of the game play options to implement at GS. One thing I'd like is to do is when I have the 1 hour or 15 minute turn option available, the players will be able in some form to place their armies.

Personally I think either way that should be an option for at least the game play.. I think the way landgrab does it is fine.. because it adds a whole element.

Give Grand Strategy a try: http://www.denizengames.com. Let me know how it compares to CC and LandGrab.

It took me two months to create Grand Strategy. But I'm can code relatively fast; at least compared to what I've seen in the software industry.

I just implemented another item from Lack's TODO list on GS: you can see the amount of time remaining in round in your Active Games list. I have a number of Lack's TODOs implemented there that you cannot find at CC.

Next up is Team Chat and Vacation setting. I'll do them tonight.

Holy W@W beat down! I'm A W@W player and I love it. The reason most people dont like it is because of its visual design. Trust me it may look boring but, being to flashy isn't always a good thing. The reason its like that is because of 2 reasons 1. It's based on the BBS game Global Wars. 2. It's almost 6 years old (give or take a few months). It is how ever going through some changes. A new map making program was just developed to make it easier for users to make more creative maps. There is also a new design coming to help organize the game menus. I may not enjoy CC as much as W@W but I can say for a fact we beat you guys in the Best VS Best. Just give it some time and you'll enjoy it. It is a great communtity were people know other players and the forum is like the dining room table. Come start a few games meet the people and you'll start to see why the W@W veterans love it so much.
