Mac is a good choice for general computeryness. Just remember that there are viruses for Macs now. And if you really hate OS X for any reason, you can always slap Windows or Linux on there, now that Mac is on the x86 platform.

For gaming, get Alienware. It's worth the price.

like 1 or 2 ppl said bout battery my mac which i had for like 5 -6 years gets bout 5 hours of time afteer about an hour of chargin my dad decided 2 buy a new dell after 5 hours of chargin or how many u want the battery only goes for 2 hours no matter wut

Well i agree that dell's aren't very well made, there are other PC alternatives to Macs, such as HPs, IBMs, Sony Vaois, even Acers they're all the same quality as macs, plus you have a wider variety of games and apps, i'd suggest getting a amc if you're going into music or art, but for casual usage, i think u'll save a lot of money by just getting a PC

no brand of computer is better than the other...no computer company actually makes their own parts so u need 2 look at the specs 2 compare them...if u want speed, u will need 2 make sure that u get a duo core processor that should be in the 2.4 ghz processor range & then atleast 1 gig of RAM (make sure its DDR & not SD)...if u r going 2 be playing video games get a 256 mb card (if ur hardcore) or a 128 mb should be fine

I have had 2 Dell laptops and loved them both. Get a Mac if youre not into customizing your computers appearance! The HPs are pretty sweet, with the fingerprint reader and the Lightscribe DVD burner. all the new ones are duo core, but i'd wait for MS vista first. or get one that comes with an upgrade when Vista comes out.

In the past this was true. However microsoft had over a million vista beta testers, so there shouldnt be a need to wait. especially on a new oem full version.

best pc/lap tops are ibm but there is no soft wear you have to get your own there no after sales to they pride them self on there gear is the best if a part is wrong they will repair or replace it free off charge
but i would go for hp good qualty stuff and a very good after sale
