I did not see a new thread on this, so I will put 3 points here.

Biden announces his bid to run again for POTUS, via a video posted online. In addition:

Tucker Carlson was fired by Fox, despite being the #1 rated show on cable in the USA. Just to clarify, I have never watched his show.

Also, Don Lemon was fired by CNN. Just to clarify, I have never watched his show, either.

I think both are relevant in that both pundits represent the same dichotomy in the USA between many leftists/Democrats who support Biden and those on the far right, represented by MAGA pro-Trump voters who support some Republicans.

There was an interesting poll recently released that showed that MOST Americans do not want Biden and Trump.

Majorities don’t want Biden, Trump to run for president in 2024
The NBC News poll also comes just days before Biden’s expected announcement for re-election.

According to the survey, 70% of all Americans — including 51% of Democrats — believe he should not run for a second term.

(...)

As for Trump, 60% of Americans — including a third of Republicans — think the former president shouldn’t run in 2024.

Lindsay Graham was mercilessly booed throughout his speech at today's Trump Mega MAGA Rally in South Carolina with some in the crowd chanting "Traitor" ...

So what?

As I said previously, Trump has a core of some 20-25% of voters who will vote for him, no matter what. These are the people who show up for Trump's rallies, despite indictments and other political problems that Trump faces. One key is for the Republicans to rally behind SOMEONE else who can beat Trump for the Republican nomination. At this point, no Republican has shown an ability to displace Trump as the nominee.

Trump cannot win in Nov. 2024, unless the Democrats again nominate Biden (and that will prove a close election, imo) or Kamala, whose ability to attract votes outside California (and some of her liberal base) is very limited, at this point.

The only other truly viable Democrat candidate at this point seems to be Gavin Newsom, current Governor of California.

But it is a long time before Nov. 2024. It is fun to speculate, BUT....Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves.

Too many things to post about Trump, Epstein's frequent guest, and who had to be admonished about always, always, bringing up how much he would like to do his daughter. And who has an actual big sexual assault conviction. Not to mention being a paid asset of the Russians since the 80s, who were paying tens of millions above listed price for his properties, and his racism, and his treason, and being so stupid he twice in solar eclipses was caught looking directly at the Sun, and so many crimes...

President Joe Biden is viewed as likable and intelligent by three in five Americans.
You wouldn't know that if you are caught in the Republican Noise Machine.

Trump was NOT convicted; the verdict was in a CIVIL trial, not a criminal trial. The jury did not find that the woman, Carroll, proved rape. Get your facts right, GaryD; otherwise, people may accuse you of spreading LIES.

There is no evidence that I have seen (other than left-wing LIES) that tie Trump to Epstein. I have heard plenty tying Bill Clinton to Epstein, but GaryD would call those "lies" based on his previous posts.

Donald Trump and E. Jean Carroll.
New York
CNN

A Manhattan federal jury found that Donald Trump sexually abused E. Jean Carroll in a luxury department store dressing room in the spring of 1996 and awarded her $5 million for battery and defamation.

Carroll alleged Trump raped her in the Bergdorf Goodman department store and then defamed her when he denied her claim, said she wasn’t his type and suggested she made up the story to boost sales of her book. Trump denied all wrongdoing. He does not face any jail time as a result of the civil verdict.

Jury finds Donald Trump sexually abused E. Jean Carroll in civil case
While the jury found that Trump sexually abused her, sufficient to hold him liable for battery, the jury did not find that Carroll proved he raped her.

Carroll filed the lawsuit last November under the “New York State Adult Survivors Act,” a state bill which opened a look-back window for sexual assault allegations like Carroll’s with long-expired statutes of limitation.

Trump did not attend the trial. Like any defendant in a civil case, he was not required to appear in court for trial or any proceedings and has a right not to testify in his own defense.

Back in 2002, when Jeffrey Epstein was known only as a mysterious financial whiz with a private island and a roster of A-list friends, being friendly with him was something to boast about. And Donald Trump did.

"I've known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy," Trump told New York Magazine that year for a story headlined "Jeffrey Epstein: International Moneyman of Mystery." "He's a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it - Jeffrey enjoys his social life."

JFC jusplay4fun!

If you haven't seen all the reports of Trump's visits to his neighbor Epstein you are just living in a right-wing media bubble.
There is even a dropped assault case that was filed.

Did this stay off of Fox News?

"Jeffrey Epstein introduced me to Trump at 14, Ghislaine Maxwell accuser says
Testifying at Maxwell’s trial in New York City, the woman, identified by the pseudonym Jane, said she met the former president in the 1990s at his Mar-a-Lago resort."

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/jeffrey-epstein-introduced-trump-14-ghislaine-maxwell-accuser-says-rcna7253

Trump admits he "paled around" with Epstein, where the child rape charge comes from, but then he dropped him as a friend.

Differing reports on how long ago.

Trump is vocally sympathetic to Ghislaine Maxwell, who often seemed Epstein's tryst procurer and assistant.

It was the Trump administration that granted Epstein immunity in 2008.

I am impressed, a different poll, but reputable.

Did you notice a majority approve of his job performance and now would vote for him over Trump by 9 points?

#1 I do not watch Fox News, never have.

And #2, how many right wingers do you know advocate for the facts of Climate change, as I have? Or did you MISS that?
https://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=236784&hilit=Global+Warming&start=175

My sense of things is that Trump realized early on that Epstein was trouble and stopped associating with him quickly. That is what I read when accusation involving Trump began to make their rounds. The SAME cannot be said of the Democrat Bill Clinton. NOTE, no denial of my allegations about Bill and Epstein by biased GaryD.

3) Trump did not become President until 2016 election, so this is a LIE by GaryD:
It was the Trump administration that granted Epstein immunity in 2008.

4) Further, Epstein was JAILED while Trump was President.

Get your FACTS straight, GaryD, before others are convinced that you LIE and Lie incessantly.

As I said before, it is a SHAME that the two "best" candidates for POTUS in 2016 were Hillary and Trump.

And then we repeat the terrible choices in 2020 with Trump and Biden.

Do we do a three-peat in 2024 with Biden and Trump? Let's ALL hope NOT.
