So what is your point, ConfedSS? Do you think Global Warming is:

1) not true, not happening?
2) a nature occurrence, and
3) the activities of humans NOW, today, nearly 8 Billion (8,000,000,000 or 7,953,952,577) is irrelevant and a non-factor?
4) part of a vast left-wing conspiracy?
5) ALL the above?

Pick any and you are WRONG, ConfedSS. PERIOD.

You can read any of this thread for evidence, anecdotal, scientific, irrefutable (in many cases), and based on Science. Most of the cited evidence is NOT based on biased sources that do NOT understand Science. Or the deniers of man-made global warming misconstrue the Science they do cite.

Such misconstruing is one of the favorite attempts to confuse and offer obfuscation by saxi (the Troll of CC and mouthpiece of pukin' putin). I mention saxi here so he feels good about all the ATTENTION I give him. He likes to quote me when I pay him a modicum of attention. You are welcome, little saxi. Now you and your PAL ralf can go pay on the interstate, again. Be sure to dodge the missiles hurled by your mutual friend pukin's putin. He likes to target playgrounds and civilians.

Yeah blue-n-silver. You better buy some carbon credits or Neptune is going to be uninhabitable.

In my opinion, asking a well reasoned question, then seeking an answer is science.

In both cases, if you are not allowed to question anything it's a cult. That's not automatically a bad thing but, it's a fact.

Of course you can ask questions. The difference is science is real and constantly being learned. It REQUIRES questions. Religion is set and simply a belief system / basis for faith. No historical "facts" or new discoveries. Personal interpretation? Hell yes.

Being a heathen / agnostic and attending a brothers of the holy cross college was very enlightening. I actually did far better in the required theology classes than the devout

In my opinion, asking a well reasoned question, then seeking an answer is also the realm of Religion. The way to obtain answers is a bit different and require different reasoning skills to some extent. However, both Science and Religion require use of Logic and a desire to know and to understand. I can do both, ask good questions of both Science and Religion.

Again, KB shows his ignorance. Let me go back to ignoring fools. His longest word is 8 letters and that is RELIGION, something he barely understands, if at all. Doubt continues to grow.

I had a modicum of hope that there was intelligence germinating in KB's brain; my hope was again CRUELLY crushed by his very words, his definitive lack of thought, and a clear lack of basic comprehension. KB cannot go beyond his preconceived biases. Notice how KB has again resorted to profanity. NOW his inability to articulate beyond simple words and concepts is on FULL DISPLAY. That is the same attitude that got KB banned MORE than once. He wears that badge as if that is something to take pride in. Why not take pride in a brown stain on your underwear, too? That is fitting. SAD, KB. NO, beyond SAD; PATHETIC.

Earth’s CO2 hits highest recorded level in human history

https://uk.news.yahoo.com/earth-co2-hit ... 55418.html

Monthly average carbon dioxide (CO2) levels have reached above 420 parts per million (ppm) for the first time on record.

The new data, from Hawaii’s Mauna Loa Observatory, were released by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Atmospheric CO2, driven higher in large part by burning fossil fuels around the world, is one of the major causes of the climate crisis.

Some climate scientists, including James Hansen, who famously alerted the US Congress to the perils of the climate crisis back in 1988, have previously called to reduce atmospheric CO2 below 350 ppm.

CO2 levels fluctuate over the course of the year, with highs around late spring. That’s due to the Northern Hemisphere’s seasons – as the northern summer comes in, increased plant growth pulls a lot of carbon out of the atmosphere, dropping levels lower.

Last year’s highest month, May, recorded 419.13 ppm. Twenty years ago, the highest month of the year had 375.93 ppm – and in 1958, the first year scientists started collecting CO2 data at Mauna Loa, the highest month of the year had just 317.51 ppm.

I do. That is what I do with my students, both adults and high school age. Recently, for Earth Day, I focused on the problem of microplastic pollution for those two groups.

However, many do not want to learn, especially OLDER people who have made up their minds, are closed-minded, as well as those I described earlier who want to remain in and waddle in their ignorance.

The dolt is confusing “religion” with philosophy.

There’s some overlap, and depending on how you define religion they may be the same.

I assume you (and most people) think of organized religions that pray to imaginary “daddies” when they hear the word “religion”.

You can ask logical questions of philosophy, but unlike hard sciences you can’t get definitive answers. That said, there’s still value in asking questions and being introspective. There is much logic in philosophy, but sometimes you come down to questions that cannot be answered logically… questions that are just based on gut-feelings or personal opinions.

You can ask logical questions of organized religions. Sometimes they will use philosophical logic to address the question, and for the great mass of people there is much value in this. That said, when you come to “questions of faith” there is no logic or reason involved.

More data and graphs for those who love to see them:

Annual 2021 Global Climate Report

Global Temperatures
The year culminated as the sixth warmest year on record for the globe with a temperature that was 0.84°C (1.51°F) above the 20th century average. The years 2013–2021 all rank among the ten warmest years on record. The year 2021 was also the 45th consecutive year (since 1977) with global temperatures, at least nominally, above the 20th century average. Of note, the year 2005, which was the first year to set a new global temperature record in the 21st century, currently ties with 2013 as the 10th warmest year on record and 2010 ranks as the ninth warmest on record. Overall, the global annual temperature has increased at an average rate of 0.08°C (0.14°F) per decade since 1880 and over twice that rate (0.18°C / 0.32°F) since 1981.

the article begins here:
The year 2021 began with an episode of cold phase El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) episode, also known as La Niña, across the central and eastern tropical Pacific Ocean, which had developed in August 2020. As seen in the graph below, ENSO can have an effect on global temperatures. La Niña episodes tend to cool global temperatures slightly, while the warm phase ENSO (also known as El Niño) tends to boost global temperatures. Although the monthly global temperatures were above average throughout the year, February 2021 was the coldest month of 2021 for the globe. The global temperature departure for February 2021 was +0.64°C (+1.15°F) — the coolest February since 2014. However, after the month of February, temperatures were at 0.80°C (1.44°F) or higher for the remaining months of 2021.

Record Heat in Europe July 2022

The heat in London on Monday and Tuesday is rivaling parts of the Sahara
Updated July 18, 20224:04 PM ET

The U.K.'s first-ever red warning for extreme heat is in effect for the heart of England on Monday and Tuesday, with temperatures up to about 106 degrees predicted to roast an area from London all the way north to Manchester and York.

"I think it's the Devil's armpits outside already in Manchester at 32c [89.6 Fahrenheit]," a Twitter user wrote around 1 p.m. local time, in response to a post from the U.K.'s national weather service, the Met Office.

(...)

Temperatures topped out at or near 100 degrees Fahrenheit in several areas on Monday, the Met Office said. It was so hot at London's Luton Airport that part of the surface began to lift away from the tarmac, forcing a temporary suspension of all flights.

(...)

The heat is poised to break weather records (again)
If forecasts bear out, the heat would obliterate current U.K. records: The hottest temperature ever recorded there
came three summers ago, when a spot in Cambridge hit 38.7 degrees Celsius (101.66 Fahrenheit).

Here's how the BBC put it in context: "London is set to be one of the hottest places in the world on Monday, with temperatures soaring above the Western Sahara and the Caribbean."

Wales saw a new record high around 2 p.m. local time, when the mercury hit 35.3 Celsius (95.54 Fahrenheit), the Met Office said. Temperatures could also rise to new heights in Scotland.

CNN

New records have been set as temperatures topped 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) across much of Spain and Portugal Wednesday amid a persistent heat wave across western Europe.

In northwest Spain, the city of Ourense set its all-time temperature record of 43.2 degrees Celsius (109.76 degrees Fahrenheit) on Tuesday, according to Spain’s meteorological agency, AEMET.

On Wednesday, Zamora set its own record after reaching 41.1 degrees Celsius (105.98 degrees Fahrenheit), according to climate statistician Max Herrera. Soria set a record of 38.7 degrees Celsius (101.66 degrees Fahrenheit) that same day.

People see conflicts where they hunt for them. For the most part, I do not see LOTS of conflicts between Science and Religion. I believe in God and in Science.

The facts about Global Warming are well established. Most who deny it are of one mindset and are wrong.

Religion does not have an opinion on Global Warming, BUT does suggest that humans should be good stewards of the Creations and the creatures and the Environment.

and ConfedSs must have forgotten that we have been down this road already, here, in this thread:

A biblical world view of stewardship can be consciously defined as: "Utilizing and managing all resources God provides for the glory of God and the betterment of His creation."[2] The central essence of biblical world view stewardship is managing everything God brings into the believer's life in a manner that honors God and impacts eternity.

Stewardship begins and ends with the understanding of God's ownership of all:

"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End." (Revelation 22:13)
"The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it." (Psalm 24:1)

Stewardship is further supported and sustained theologically on the understanding of God's holiness as found in such verse as: Genesis 1:2[1:2], Psalm 104, Psalm 113, 1 Chronicles 29:10-20, Colossians 1:16, and Revelation 1:8.
