Apparently most commercial planes take off around 180mph... I've never been in a car going that fast though

138 mph in my Dad's 1971 Dodge Charger

Over 100 mph in my 1975 Trans Am (speedometer only went up to 100 mph - I hated that!)

Well, if you just want to chat about any kind of going fast, don't forget...

Earth orbits around the Sun at a speed of about 67,000 miles per hour (107,000 km/hr or nearly 30 km/s).
At the same time, Earth spins on its axis at about 1,000 miles per hour (460 m/s or 1,600 km/hr), ...at the equator. Gradually less as you approach the poles.
