Favorite London Landmark?

Postby saxitoxin on Fri Sep 20, 2024 8:02 pm

A towering cuboid made of more than 300 masks depicting the faces of transgender and non-binary people, this year’s fourth plinth artwork, has been described as a piece designed to “unite the trans community around the world”.

Margolles said in a statement that the work, which is the 15th to stand on the plinth in the London square and features “life masks” of 726 people (363 each from Mexico and the UK), was a tribute to Karla La Borrada, a 67-year-old trans singer and former sex worker who was murdered in Ciudad Juárez nine years ago.

Oh, they're always putting somesuch crap on that darn plinth, ...but anyway, while half-reading the article I saw this!

OMG, I have so many questions.
Where exactly was it hiding? Was the meal actually served to a passenger or did it crawl out while in that little kitchenette area?
...and I can only suppose this was a wild rodent, ...not a pet/feeder rodent which might reasonably be fed to an airborne immigré.

London Landmarks (known as Double-Els in the monument trade) just 'hit' different when translocated to sunny, arid climes.

That's funny, it looks so different to all the other bridges in London. Almost Roman or something.

That was it.

London Bridge, in Lake Havasu, AZ.

Oops, I suppose Old Glory should have been the tip off.

I guess I expected it to have a bit more tower sort of action. My bad.

Well, the legend is that the purchaser thought he was buying Tower Bridge, not London Bridge' Don't know if it's true.

Let's hope they never sell the Dead Transgender Hooker Monument. It truly is an iconic fixture in the London cityscape.

"Should we have dinner on Thursday?"

"Sure, I'll meet you at 6 o'clock at the Dead Transgender Hooker Monument."
