Today The Greatest Man to walk on Earth Died!!!

Postby ConfederateSS on Fri May 05, 2023 12:25 am

------------Today May 5th , 1821 A.D. ,The Greatest Man To Walk On The Face Of The Earth, Napoleon Bonaparte died on the Island of St. Helena, in the middle of nowhere, just about 1500 miles from anything, in about every direction.....No JESUS doesn't count, HE IS GOD, not a man...

------------ Napoleon, has a Brandy named for him... Among other things....He was captured twice....Both times he was allowed to live by his enemies...They respected him....For his Military Greatness...I am not saying no civilians ever died....But Napoleon attacked only Military units...He never went out of his way to kill Women , children, etc...He did his talking on the battlefields...Think about it, What leader captured today...is spared...By the winners of war...Or the people they led....The French adored Napoleon...After he escaped his 1st exile....The French People, helped him to Power a 2nd time...If you gave him today's weapons...He would Excel in modern warfare....For he was a Master of Typography...How to use the right attack , at the right moment...
----------- When he became Emperor....He became lazy... relying on others... That's when the loses came...
... O:) ConfederateSS.out!(The Blue and Silver Rebellion)... O:)

----------- HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO 2023 A.D. :!: =D> =D> =D> ...
------------ Ironically....On the day May 5th...The Day Napoleon died....years later...The Mexicans kick the French out of Mexico... :D

Will you please f*ck off with this "greatest man" horseshit?

Napoleon was an evil dictator, nothing more. Yes, he was good with military tactics. Big fucking deal. He was a conscienceless murderer who led tens of millions of men to gruesome deaths in completely unnecessary wars. He easily belongs in the same club as Hitler and Stalin.

Napoleon rode to power on the coat-tails of the French Revolution and he promptly betrayed the high egalitarian ideals of that Revolution.

In his early years, you could argue that France needed him. It was surrounded by enemies and needed a military dictator to survive. But by 1803, every one of France's enemies had signed a peace treaty. France was completely secure in her borders, had accomplished all its goals, was at peace with everyone and could have gone on to a safe and glorious peaceful future!

One man's hubris broke all those peace treaties and resulted in the renewal of war. They are called the Napoleonic Wars with good reason. Napoleon alone shattered France's peaceful future to involve her in imperialistic adventures, and the tens of millions who died from 1803 to 1815 have him to thank. Every war after 1803 was completely uncalled for, completely unnecessary. Napoleon, a LIAR, a CHEAT, a BACKSTABBING DEGENERATE, broke each and every peace treaty he ever signed in search of more and more conquests. A murderer with no honour. Not the slightest sliver.

Interesting:

Why historians believe Cinco de Mayo prevented the Confederacy's win in the Civil War
Story by dearbeawalker@gmail.com (DeArbea Walker) • Yesterday 9:52 AM

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/why-historians-believe-cinco-de-mayo-prevented-the-confederacy-s-win-in-the-civil-war/ar-AAWXDTn?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531&cvid=711e98c0725c447ea2b5c1b61d5c0088&ei=21

French Emperor Napoleon III had planned to trade weapons for cotton with Confederate states during France's invasion of Mexico.
However, Mexico's resolve at the Battle of Puebla in 1862 prevented France from supplying weapons to the Confederacy during the Civil War.
France retreated to Veracruz for a year giving the Union Army enough time to rack up victories against the Confederacy and end the war in 1865.
As people across the country indulge in Cinco De Mayo celebrations with margaritas and tacos, few may know about the connection the holiday has to US history.

On May 5, 1862, the Mexican army defeated the French in the Battle of Puebla. This prevented French Emperor Napoleon III from supplying weapons to the Confederacy during the Civil War. Napoleon III had planned to trade weapons for cotton with the Confederate states during France's invasion of Mexico. But upon arriving at combat, the French found that they were unprepared to battle the resolve of the Mexican army.

--------I have been tied up in Challenges.....NOW :!: :!: :!:

-----------Not me....But from The 200th Anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo....June 2015 A.D... Smithsonian Magazine, by Andrew Roberts....A British Historian, Journalist/ Novelist....His book , Napoleon: A Life...Won The 2014 A.D. Los Angeles Times Book Prize ...for Best Biography....... Napoleon would Have Ended Slavery quicker...among other things....

--------- Last couple of paragraphs of the article....

--------- Title of the Article....
....
----------- Why, We'd Be Better Off If Napoleon Never Lost at Waterloo........
----------- If Napoleon had remained Emperor of France for the six years remaining in his natural life, European Civilization would have benefited inestimably. The reactionary Holy Alliance of Russia, Prussia, and Austria would not have been able to crush liberal constitutionalist movements in Spain, Greece, Eastern Europe and elsewhere; pressure to join France in abolishing slavery in Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean would have grown; the benefits of meritocracy over feudalism would have had time to become more widely appreciated; Jews would not have been forced back into their ghettos in the Papal States and made to wear the yellow star again; encouragement of the arts and sciences would have been better understood and copied; and the plans to rebuild Paris would have been implemented, making it the most gorgeous city in the world.
----------- Napoleon deserved to lose Waterloo, and Wellington to win it, but the essential point in this bicentenary year is that the epic battle did not need to be fought-- and the world would have been better off if it hadn't been.
----------- In other words Napoleon was changing the world for the better... Shattering the rich states and families of Europe...The world would be better, if he hadn't been stopped....... O:) ConfederateSS.out!(The Blue and Silver Rebellion)... O:) ....June's challenge 2023 A.D... coming up...Is about Such Rich States and Families... Ironic... ;) ... Someone must be watching The OFF TOPICS for challenge ideas... :D :D :D

RIP to the Emperor Eternal

Reportedly if he had left France just six hours earlier he wouldn't have been intercepted by the RN and would have been able to make it to the asylum promised him by the U.S. before the Coalition arrested him. A great regret of history.

But his legacy remains. The royal family he hand picked still rules in Sweden, for instance. The Holy Roman Empire still hasn't reconstituted itself. The Pope has no lands left except a postage stamp in Rome. Viva l'Emperor!

Greatest scene in cinematic history where the entire 5th Regiment of the Line -- under personal command of a Marshal of France -- surrenders to Napoleon and a handful of troops of the Imperial Guard and the Elban Police without a shot being fired. Not a single man was willing to fire on their Emperor.

And this was 100% accurate to history.

"If you want to kill your Emperor, here I am."

My friend Gwyn was such a huge fan of that film that eventually his wife moved out rather than watch it again.

---------One more interesting thing Roberts points out in his article....
----------- Napoleon was not the aggressor, when he came back...The 100 days...The 7th coalition was....Led by England... Napoleon was only defending himself...At that point....
----------- Britain just got it's ass handed to itself...By a humiliation....In January 1815 A.D... American General "Old Hickory" Andrew Jackson, beat the crap out of the British forces trying to take New Orleans....Led by non other than Wellington's brother in law ...Gen. Edward Pakenham...
----------- They needed to get the conversation changed...So they wanted another conflict with Napoleon...
----------- Turns out, In 2023 A.D. standards ... Napoleon was a victim at Waterloo...As Paul Harvey would say, "That's the rest of the story...GOOD DAY..."...
... O:) ConfederateSS.out!(The Blue and Silver Rebellion)... O:)

What he did is (mostly) fact. If Napoleon is "the Greatest Man" is a matter of opinion. Are you confused on that distinction?

I re-read this from about one year ago; I think that ConfedSS meant that Napoleon was a master of topography. :D

topography
noun
the arrangement of the natural and artificial physical features of an area.
"the topography of the island"
