You cant fault them for only being able to play 14 games. im sure if they were allowed 16 they would have done so. Plus how many teams today have even won 14 striaght in one season and gone on to win the super bowl?

have a point, but i still don't count them......it's an asterisk. just like if so and so hit 5000000 home runs in a season with 1000000000000 games, is he really better than Ruth, or McGwire, or Maris???

Yes. The Miami Dolphins did it in 1972.

but, with only 14 regular season games......the regular season games now are 16......the colts went 14-0 last year (i think, didn't they?) does that make them "undefeated"?

You forgot that the '72 Dolphins won 3 more games to make their season 17-0. Thats one-seven games without a defeat. Including the Super Bowl. I'm not a particular fan of the Dolphins (especially since the bastards took our coach :( ) but I do respect what the '72 team accomplished.

What separates the '72 Dolphins from all the other teams is that they did not suffer a letdown and did not choke when everything was on the line. Hey Indianapolis Dolts, you hearin' this??

Regardless of the how many games the Dolphins played no team has even come close to that yet. And if a team really was the best all time they would win the Super Bowl. You can't be considered the best team ever and lose the the deciding factor on who is the best team that year. I understand what you are saying about the streak and amount of games, but it still boils down to winning the whole thing.
