To clarify my statement.

I quote the following from the decleration of independence.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."

I said I have guns for three reasons, I will expound upon them now to clarify.

to protect my friends and family. I think this is pretty self explanitory.

to protect my country from mean evil people around the world. basically, if they come here looking for a fight trying to overthrow my government against my will I will fight.

to protect nice people around the world from my country. if it is found to be that my country is being the aggressor, destroying peoples rights, and demeaning the truths and causes that it was founded to protect, then it is my duty as an american to overthrow that government and replace it with one based on the constitution, and reimplement the ideals and truths on which this country was founded.


in actuality, if you read the outtakes, notes and transcripts from the continental congress. and the notes and speaches left behind by those involved in the writing of the constitution. the ONLY reason for the second amendment was to protect the people from their own government. the founding fathers wanted to ensure that no treasonous evil government would ever rule in this country because the people would always be armed. the second amendment was put there to protect the first.

It is unfortunate that our current politicians do not seem to remember or understand this.
