Roughly one month after the end of the first Major League Doodle Earth, I think we are ready for the beginning of the second season!
Firstly, I want whoever wants to sign up to say which country they want to represent in this tournament.
Example:
"I'm in and I want to represent Ireland."
Now: the structure. This season's tournament will show severe changes in the tournament's structure. I'm trying something a little different. :p
This will be mostely a 1vs1 tourney.
Tournament Structure
- First Stage: 40 players start the league. They are randomly divided along ten 4-player groups. They play everybody in the group once. Win = 1 point. Top 3 in each group qualify to the Second Stage;
- Second Stage: 30 players remaining. Now there will be five 6-player groups. Once again, everybody plays everybody in the group once. Win = 1 point. Top 3 in each group qualify to the Third Stage;
- Third Stage: 15 players remaining. The survivors are placed into three 5-player groups. Win = 1 point. Top 2 in each group advance to the Quarter Final. 3rd Places advance to the Playoff;
- Playoff: One 3-player game is played. Winner and last to lose advance to the Quarter Final;
- Quarter Final: 8 players remain in the tournament. Four games are played. Best of 3. Winners advance;
- Semi Final: 4 players remaining. Two games are played. Best of 5. Winners advance;
- Final: 2 players remain. One game. Best of 7. Winner is crowned the champion of the 2015 season of the Major League Doodle Earth.
