OKAY! Now on the correct part of the forum (I mistakenly posted this thread on the "ongoing" part of the forum ) : Hey there mates! My feelings are that there are not enough Promontory Summit tournaments around here. If you feel the same way, why not join in?
Every player will be randomly seeded into four 16-player brackets. Each bracket presenting its own different game settings
The settings that will remain the same are:
seq
escalating
NO trench
20 round games
The other settings will be:
Nocturnal Bracket 1
foggy
chained
Nocturnal Bracket 2
foggy
unlimited
Diurnal Bracket 1
sunny
chained
Diurnal Bracket 2
sunny
unlimited
After the four bracket winners are found they will play a Final Four. Nocturnal winners will play each other in two games and the same will happen with the Diurnal winners. The winners of the Final Four will face each other in a Grand Final. Four games will be played at this last stage. Winner takes it all.
If, after the four initial brackets end, someone gets to "face" themselves in the Final Four, they will automatically advance to the Grand Final. If that situation occurs in the Grand Final, the winner is automatically that player without any game being played.
Final Four Settings
Nocturnal - Game 1: foggy, chained;
Nocturnal - Game 2: foggy, unlimited;
Nocturnal - extra game (if needed): foggy, parachute;
Diurnal - Game 1: sunny, chained;
Diurnal - Game 2: sunny, unlimited;
Diurnal - extra game (if needed): foggy, parachute;
Grand Final Settings
Game 1: foggy, chained;
Game 2: foggy, unlimited;
Game 3: sunny, chained;
Game 4: sunny, unlimited;
If a winner is not found, two extra games will be played:
extra game 1 (if needed): foggy, parachute;
extra game 2 (if needed): sunny, parachute;
If players are still even at this point, I will PM both players asking them if they prefer to play foggy or sunny. If they differ, I will randomly select the setting for a last extra game. This last game will have NO reinforcements.
All other settings remain the same.
Reserve policy
- I'll send and invitation. If not accepted, I'll send another one. If that one is not accepted as well, the player at stake will be replaced by a reserve if the preliminary round is being played.
- If the invitations are not accepted in any other round, the player at stake will be eliminated.
