USA Map Pack dubs/poly [TPA5] (COMPLETE)
Posted: Fri Dec 12, 2014 9:35 am
This is a Tournament Players Association Year 5 [TPA5] event, and is governed by its rules, guidelines, and judgments which are detailed here: viewtopic.php?f=89&t=207126
All are welcome to join and participate in the association. You do not need to do anything more than join one or more of the TPA5 events that will be announced on Mondays. Check back on the scoreboard to see how you're doing:
This tourney is open to premium only due to poly games being played. Even though this is technically a team tourney, PLEASE SIGN UP INDIVIDUALLY. If you sign up as a pair, I will not take either registration. This is a premier tourney which comes with more points for TPA purposes.
All games in this tourney will use the standard settings, except for FOG and a 20 round limit. The 12-Hr Fog rule is not in place in this tourney, and therefore will not be enforced. However, players may observe the rule if they wish. All games will be either a 4 player dubs, or a poly (2) game.
In each round, you will play two doubles games and two poly games on the map for that round. All games will be randomly drawn, so your partner will change every game. Winning a doubles game gets each partner 1.5 points, while winning a poly game results in a point for the victor. Maps are as follows:
Round 1 – USA West
Round 2 – USA Southeast
Round 3 – USA Southwest
Round 4 – USA Great Lakes
Round 5 – USA New England
When signing up, please choose your favorite map of the five above. All points that you score on that map will be doubled. If you do not choose a map, or specify an incorrect map, one will be randomly assigned to you.
Games will be sent out about a week apart, so it is quite possible that you will be involved in more than one round at the same time. I will try to keep a Google Doc with updated scores so you can see your progress throughout the tourney.
I am not competing in this tourney. I will fill in for any doubles game where someone does not accept or if we have an uneven foursome. This may require me to join multiple doubles games. After the initial round of invites are sent, if 2 people in a doubles game fail to accept invites, the other 2 players will receive the wining point totals (regardless of whether they were to be on the same team). If only one person joins, they will get the points. For poly, if a player does not join, the other person will automatically win by forfeit. In addition, if we have an uneven amount of players at any time during the tourney, the extra player will be notified in thread that they have a bye.
PLEASE FOLLOW THE THREAD. Any pertinent info will be in there. I will not send a PM regarding the tourney unless it is exceptional circumstances.
Ties will be handled as follows: First tiebreaker will be round 1 score, if still tied, round 2 score, etc. If still tied through all 5 rounds, first person to sign up in this tourney wins.
Miss 2 invites to the same game, and you are out of that game. I am not intending to eliminate anyone in this tourney, but if you continually miss invites, you may be kicked out.
Any issues not addressed here will be handled by me and my word is final.
