This is a Tournament Players Association Year 5 [TPA5] event, and is governed by its rules, guidelines, and judgments which are detailed here: viewtopic.php?f=89&t=207126
All are welcome to join and participate in the association. You do not need to do anything more than join one or more of the TPA5 events that will be announced on Mondays. Check back on the scoreboard to see how you're doing:
States of the Union!!
In this tournament, you will represent one of the 48 contiguous (mainland) US states. HOWEVER - you do NOT get to choose which state you represent! States are assigned in the order they joined the Union. Any requests for a particular state will be ignored.
Freemiums welcome, but MUST leave at least one game slot open (leaving two is strongly recommended).
All games will be played with CC's default settings - automatic, sequential, escalating, chained, no fog, no trench - and a 30-round limit.
In Phase 1, you will play a 1v1 game on your regional map against each other state in your region to determine the rankings of the states in your region. If your region contains an even number of states, you will play one game at a time. Otherwise, you will play 2 games at a time. 1 win = 1 point. If a tiebreaker is necessary, head-to-head record will be used first. If more than 2 players are tied, this shall be followed by total length (in rounds) of games won (lower number of rounds wins), and finally a tiebreaker standard game on the regional map.
What region is my state in?
- USA New England: Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania
- USA Great Lakes: Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri
- USA Southeast: North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi
- USA Rockies: North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Utah
- USA Southwest: Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona
- USA West: Nevada, California, Oregon, Washington State
In Phase 2, you will play 5 12-player standard games on the USA map against similarly ranked states from the other regions of the country to determine the final overall rankings. Phase 2 groups will be as follows:
- Group A: 1st-3rd NE, 1st-3rd GL, 1st SE, 1st-3rd R, 1st SW, 1st W
- Group B: 4th-5th NE, 4th-6th GL, 2nd-3rd SE, 4th-5th R, 2nd-3rd SW, 2nd W
- Group C: 6th-7th NE, 7th-9th GL, 4th-5th SE, 6th-7th R, 4th-5th SW, 3rd W
- Group D: 8th-9th NE, 10th-13th GL, 6th-7th SE, 8th-9th R, 6th SW, 4th W
The player who finishes at the top of Group A will be declared the winner of the tournament.
Missing 3 invites will result in removal from the tournament - NOTE: declining an invite counts as TWO missed invites.
Good luck!
