THE EASY EIGHT MAP MADNESS
This tournament is only open to premiums due to game load. Each round, all games will be sent at the same time. Looking for 56 or 64 players. All settings for this tourney will be standard, auto, sequential, escalating, parachute, no special gameplay, 20 round limit. Players in each game will range from 8 down to 4. Maps used in this tournament are as follows: Great Lakes, USA New England, USA South East, USA Great Lakes, US Senate, American Civil War, Dust Bowl and 13 colonies. In round 1, you will play an 8 player game on each map (8 games in all). In round 2, you will play a 7 player game on each map you have not been eliminated in (details on that later). In round 3, you will play a 6 player game on each map you have not been eliminated on, provided you have not been fully eliminated. Round 4 will be 5 player games and Round 5 will be four player games. SCORING: For the 8 player games, scoring is as follows: 1st ā 4 points, 2nd ā 3.5 points, 3rd ā 3 points, 4th ā 2.5 points, 5th ā 2 points, 6th ā 1.5 points, 7th ā 1 point and 8th - .5 points. For the 7 player games, scoring is as follows: 1st ā 7 points, 2nd ā 6 points, 3rd ā 5 points, 4th ā 4 points, 5th ā 3 points, 6th ā 2 points and 7th ā 1point. For the 6 player games, scoring is as follows: 1st ā 9 points, 2nd ā 7.5 points, 3rd ā 6 points, 4th ā 4.5 points, 5th ā 3 points and 6th ā 1.5 points. For the 5 player games, scoring is as follows: 1st ā 10 points, 2nd ā 8 points, 3rd ā 6 points, 4th ā 4 points and 5th ā 2 points. For the 4 player games, scoring is as follows: 1st ā 10 points, 2nd ā 7.5 points, 3rd ā 5 points, and 4th ā 2.5 points. In addition, your points on certain maps will be multiplied. More on that in the next section. HOW THE GAMES WILL BE SET UP: I will map rank each person that enters this tourney on all 8 maps (the only box I will check will be the standard box). I will create a list for each of the 8 maps based on score (highest to lowest). I will then use a seeded randomization technique to create the final list. Once this list is created, it will be used throughout the tourney for that map. For each round, I will start at the top of the list and take the first 8 (or 7, 6, 5, etc) players and put them in a game. Then the next amount, etc, so you will more or less be playing the same players on each map. As part of the map rank process, I will identify your best and worst map as well as your second best and second worst map. All scores on your best and worst map will be doubled. Scores on your second best and second worst map will be multiplied by a factor of 1.5. All other scores will be as in the prior post. PARTIAL ELIMINATIONS: Each player finishing last in a game will be eliminated from that map for the remainder of the tourney. So, if you win all your games in the first round but finish last on Great Lakes, you are out for the Great Lakes map and only eligible to play the remaining 7 maps. FULL ELIMINATIONS: I will keep track of each players score and their potential score, taking into account how many maps they have left and the multipliers on those maps. When it becomes impossible for a player to win the tourney outright, they will be fully eliminated from the tourney and take no further part. GA MEDAL: A GA Medal will be awarded to a player who: 1. Does not win the tourney, and 2. Wins the most number of games (counting wins only and ignoring multipliers) HOW I WILL HANDLE DEADBEATS, etc: All players are expected to join all games in the first round. If a player does not join any games in the first round, I will find a replacement. If a player joins one or more games but not the rest of the games, I will fill in for them if I am not already Otherwise I will remake the game with one less player. At the beginning of each round, I will post the game numbers that I am in that will count for that round. All other games will not count for me. In rounds 2-5, I will insert myself into games to make the numbers come out right. I will start at the top of the list
EDIT: Signups will remain open through at least Monday 5/19/14.
Also, I've noticed that many players have not played any maps. I'll use random.org to determine which of their maps gets the special multipliers.
