Official SOS Africa Qualifier -- Bread and Beer Brought to you by Team CC
Freemiums can participate, but will need 1 game slot open at all times.
The Egypt: Lower map encompasses the Nile Delta. The Delta was one of the great agricultural powerhouses of the ancient world, and remains significantly productive even now. Annual flooding of the Nile replenished the fertility of the soil, preventing the depletion of nutrients. The warm climate allowed two or three crops to be grown per year. The grain production of the Delta was the driving force behind the ancient Egyptian economy.
Grain from the Nile Delta produced the two staples of the ancient Egyptian diet -- bread and beer. Bread, as it does in modern cuisines, provided carbs and fibre. Egyptian beer was unfiltered, and the yeasts and other sediments were an important source of protein and vitamins. This is a double-elimination tournament. Lose once, and you're out of bread. Lose twice, and you're out of beer - and out of the tournament.
Read the details below and post in this thread to sign up now!
Settings Map: Egypt: Lower Players per game: 2 Game Type: 1v1 Initial Troops: Automatic Play Order: Sequential Spoils: Escalating Reinforcements: Adjacent Special Gameplay: Fog of War/No Trench Warfare Round Length: 24 Hours
Setup and Structure
3264 players will be placed in a straightforward DE (double elimination) bracket with one game per match. The bracket-randomization feature at Challonge.com will be used to create the bracket.
Prizes The winner of the tournament will receive 3 months Premium membership. He/she will also be rewarded with a General Achievement Medal and a place in the SOS Africa Finals to be played on Africa II. Prizes are donated by Entertainment team.
Notes
Tournament begins when full; first games will be made and sent out shortly thereafter.
Freemiums are welcome but must reserve 1 slot for this tournament. You will receive a maximum of two invites into each game. Failure to accept the second invite will constitute a forfeited game. (We need to keep these Qualifiers moving quickly so the main SOS Africa tournament can start. I will therefore rein in my soft heart and not make any exceptions. Fail to join on second invite, regardless of the reason, and you forfeit that game. If it's your first forfeited game you'll get a second one eventually.)
Any issues will be solved by the tournament organiser and his/her word is final.
Sorry Dukasaur, I'm in another qualifier so will have to bow out of this one.
Cheers wrex

More prelim cannon fodder games with myself as the host fodder. Got my shiny, new 10 Baht coin for this 'coin flip' of a map. (Not complaining though!) Have a good week CCers!
13642008 13642009 13642010 ^All have been filled and thank you.
Sir Dukasaur, a very impressive CV of past tourney hosting, cheers! ([;{>
