We are finally here:
World Cup 2010 in South Africa
Lets all try to ignore the fact that we're in 2008 and imagine that time has flown a bit faster and we are in 2010. It's been a long way. We started discussing the idea of WC 2010 idea at November 25th of year 2007 when spinwizard came up with the idea to gather several organisers together and resurrect Kahless's tournament. 10 days and 16 pages of discussion later, 6 organisers (spinwizard, MarVal, amazzony, jennifermarie, hulmey and cena-rules) were ready to post the sign up threads. Thanks to a lot of planning, things went (mostly) smoothly. There were problems when real life took over the lives of some CC organising addicts but even with some "drop-out" organisers, we managed to pull it together and finish all 6 qualifying regions.
Thanks to lackattack, we can offer *6-months premium to the winner* of this tournament!
Besides that, the winner of the tournament has a right to wear this amazing award made by MarVal:
This tournament consists of 7 different parts: 6 Qualifying Groups (1 for each region) [FINISHED] and the final - World Cup 2010 South Africa [THIS ONE] with all the teams (coaches) who proved in the qualifying rounds that they are worthy to represent their country and team in South Africa.
6 Qualifying Groups were meant to be lead by separate organisers (referees) at the same time and though there were several referees then the tournament is still one and the same (though we said that one referee can't whistle several matches then we figured out a way how to do it ).
As all 6 Qualifying regions with 205 coaches playing in them have finished and there's one last challenge left: World Cup 2010 games and only one Coach is good enough to lead his/her team to victory - to be the Soccer Champion of the World in 2010.
We're trying to keep it as real as possible to World Cup 2010, so all the teams, formats and groups are very similar to everything that is actually in real life. For that I've worked and put together groups for final tournament according to last World Cup.
6 Qualifying Groups (click on region to get more info):
Tournament Tables (scoreboards) and "RESERVE-POOL" {referee: MarVal}
Africa (CAF) {referee: amazzony}
Asia (AFC) {referees: amazzony & jennifermarie}

North, Central America and Caribbean (CONCACAF) {referee: MarVal}
Oceania (OFC) {referee: jennifermarie}
South America (CONMEBOL) {referee: amazzony}

Big thanks to Kahless who came up with this tournament idea at the beginning. Though he decided to leave the site and abandon his tournament, we (6 TOs) decided to pick up the great idea, tweak it a bit (16 pages of discussion in Tournament Organiers Usergroup) and bring it to you.
