gp24176281 - thinktank receive formal citation for trying to arrange game results with opponents.

Let it be warning and reminder to everyone:

Our poule is so so so very close that 1 cheating game could prevent a team from going thrue to the next round.

This can't be the case in the best tourney ever. If they really tried to their have to be according messures.

I was thinking about the format of the tournament. And i think the following would work the best:

in round 1 we have 36 teams
in round 2 we have 24 teams
in finals we have 12 teams

in round 1 we have 4 groups
in round 2 we have 2 groups
in finals we have 1 group

that way we decrease the number of teams every round by 12.

I think that would work the best. What do u say, guys?

And hopefully will reduce the number of cheating attempts? That everyone is not so desperate anymore LOL

AndrewB,

This is a formal protest on us being panalized. I find it out of place.

I wasn't aware it's not aloud (as was specifically indicated on the game chat). Moreover, as indicated in the chat, I was certain it's aloud. If I wanted to go behind the back of anyone or be dishonest in any way, I would have not done it on chat.

and to the point:
1. It was an inocent(!!!) offer as indicated from the chat.
2. Nothing really happen in the end of the day.

Thus,
I kindly request to reconsider the panalization.

I would welcome any remark by the other players as well, after reading this massage.

I searched the thread and couldn't find any mention that deals are not aloud. I ask u to reconsider due to this fact. It was an inocent misunderstanding that certainly doesn't call for such a punishment.

you offer to throw a game and did not know it was not allowed?

good grief! with the exception of when you are playing in your 4 year old nephews non-affiliated Snap tournament, in what competition in the world is that acceptable behaviour?

Mention of throwing any game is under the rules of the site, it does not have to be included in the rules of a specific tournament. If you were somehow unaware of this rule it is unfortunate, but with the very limited information I have seen the punishment seems appropriate.

No one can deny that some tournaments' setup encourage this type of event. I am in another tourney where we are awarded points based on the place we finish in each game. This encourages some very strange play at times by players whose goal becomes to finish 2nd or 3rd, and do not intend to win the individual game.

Screw that! i want to win every game and i don't care who i play in the next round! If i win this tournament it is because I deserved to.

And i am sure my partner will agree with that ;)

Just look at some of the gamechat between me and Firstholliday (my partner)as adversaries in Standard Escalator games!
You will see that we give no quarter to each other (though friends, and partners in other games) let alone to anyone else! (in fact we are probably harder on one-another, as our opinion matters more!)

Regardless of that, In this Tourney it does not affect who we play and to think it permissible to arrange a formal agreement in chat to throw a game, is at best naive.

Naivety is not a defense when it belies commonly accpeted codes of decency.
