SNAKEDOC & FREAK'S RANDOM MAP CHALLENGE [Culs De Sac]
Posted: Fri Jun 26, 2009 1:53 pmWe are intrigued by the possibilities of the Random (?) Map. Accordingly, we wanted to see how it would play in a tournament. (We know that there have been a few tournaments utilizing the Random Map already, but they have been 8 player, which cuts down drastically on the # of usable maps, or freestyle...which is only for tweakers

This tournament is pretty simple…20 players will be divided into 4 groups of 5. Each group will play 5 games on the Random (?) Map. The settings will be Sequential, Escalating Spoils, Chained Fortifications, and Sunny.
Points will be awarded as follows:
1st – 10 pts
2nd – 7 pts
3rd – 5 pts
4th – 3 pts
5th – 1 pts
The winner of each group will advance to the Final Round. Additionally, the runner-up with the highest point total will advance to the Final Round as well.
The Final Round will be played and scored the same as the First Round. The players will play 5 games on the Random (?) Map with the same settings as above.
We need 20 Players to Start. Premiums only since multiple games will be played each round. We would also like 2 reserves.
Please do not pm us to sign up…make sure you post in this thread, any pm’s will be ignored.
In the case of a tie, the tied players will play a winner-takes-all match on the Random (?) Map.
Scores reset from the First Round to the Final Round.
Players will have 72 hours to join their games. They will be given a warning after 48 hours. If the player has not joined in 72 hours they will be replaced by an alternate in the first round, or substituted by the next best player from the previous round. Thanks.
