Dragon King of Wales , are once again seriously under threat.
News spreads accross the sea that the druids of the New Tribes in Dyfed have come out of hiding and amassed their esoteric powers to close all portals to the Havgan's Underworld and the Netherworld. As a result the Dragon has lost its power and disappeared, becoming nothing more than a legend.
As leader of your New Tribe, you decide the time is right to overthrow the Old Tribes and expand your kingdom ...
This tournament is the (fictional) historical follow-on from the Dragon King of Wales and is the second in a series of āevolving storylineā terminator tournaments I am releasing. Success in each round will lead to the next challenge, which will be revealed later . . .
It is open to all players with a decent attendance record (see below). Freemiums welcome (two-games-at-a-time).
show: The Storyline as it Evolved
Your clan come together and plot how to defeat the Old Tribes. Around the campfire it is decided that the first step is to raid the Old Tribes of the West of the Emerald Isle. However, you decide to sideline the plan for a while as your clan gathers together more forces and weaponry to undertake the mission. Eventually, after much merry-making you drift asleep. You awake with a start. " . . . and they call me the wild rover. . ." There is a quiet voice singing in your ear. In the near-darkness but your eyes make something out. In the light of the fire's dying embers you see a tiny man sat next to you. "Top a tha mornin to ya. Well top a tha noit. Fear not brave warrior. I am a leprechaun. The druids have sent me. I believe you need weaponry and for that you could well do with a little gold. Ready your finest men and I will lead them to a pot of gold hidden away in the heart of tha emerald Oisle. Ha ha . . ." You recollect tales of these tiny leprochauns. He seems harmless enough, you tell yourself, and decide that the quest is worth trying: View Game 4535580 (Auto-Join Game ) Good luck, the winner gains 2 points. Now that the Leprochaun's mission has been undertaken, your tribe are ready to undertake the mission discussed earlier, about the campfire. As the Brigantes tribe are the strongest of the Old Tribes you decide that they are your primary target - with the Brigantes tribe defeated, the old order of the Old Tribes will soon crumble. However, your task is made all the more difficult as the Brigantes are rumoured to have influence in a range of different regions of the Emerald Isle. As celebrations die down however, it is decided, that, before news spreads of your victory, now is the time to spring surprise attacks on all of the Old Tribes of Ireland to eliminate them and take control. Careful planning takes place around the campfire and your strongest warriors prepare their attack groups -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A messenger arrives from the Caledoni tribe accross the sea. "We hear of your victories in the Emerald Isle brothers. If you can help us defeat our rivals here in Scotland then we can join forces and become a mighty coalition against the Old Tribes. Our first problem is our on-going battles with the Taexali tribe." With your warriors full of confidence and energy fromtheir recent exploits, you set sail immediately to help your distant cousins: View Game 4910504 (Auto-Join Game ) Good luck hardy warriors. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The leader of the Caledoni tribe thanks you for defeating his mortal enemy: "We are now kindred tribes my friend." During the festivities, the leader takes you to one side and tells you of his plans to eliminate the other Old Tribes of Scotland, then to forge alliances in Wales and elsewhere, creating a single force ruling over the Island of the Mighty. In partnership, you set-about the first part of this plan: After feasting deep into the night, you gather your most trusted victorious warriors together to share the next stage of the plan you have developed with leader of the Caledoni tribe. "In the morrow we set sail for the fair land of France - we have more allies there who need help in establishing their strength. Quarter-Finals: Four groups of 4 players each playing three matches (altogether) on two maps to be revealed as the storyline evolves . . . . The winner of the first two matches each gain 2 points. In the third match, first position gains 3 points, 2nd place (last to be eliminated) gains 1 point. The top 2 players in the group progress. In the event of a tie for second place a one-match tie-break will take place.Semi-Finals: Two groups of 4 players each playing two matches on one map to be revealed as the storyline evolves . . . . The winner of the the first match gains 2 points. In the second match, first position gains 4 points, 2nd place (last to be eliminated) gains 3 points, 3rd gains 2 points and 4th gains 1 point. The top 2 players in the group progress. In the event of a tie for second place a one-match tie-break will take place.Finals: Four players will play one match on each of three maps to be revealed as the storyline evolves . . . . Maps will be revealed as the storyline evolves . . . Game type will vary, to be revealed ... All matches will Sequential. Matches will also involve Flat Rate Spoils, Adjacent Reinforcements and Fog of War (as there was no intelligence at this point in history). Tie-breaks between 2 players will be Standard, Escalating, Adjacent and Fog of War.
Players show
There will be 16 players. Players must have a 97% attendance record, have played a minimum 25 matches, and not have dropped out from one of my tournaments previously! Freemiums welcome, although beware that the tournament starts as soon as we have enough players. Players will have 24 hours to join their matches from when the joining PM is sent. Failure to do so will result in a reserve being sought (harsh, I know). Winners of each match should PM the Tournament Organiser with details of the positions for each player.
Reserves show
All reserves will be sent a PM when an opening occurs. The first reserve to respond will gain a place. For the first round, reserves will be drawn from the reserve list. After each round play-offs between players knocked-out will be used to determine the top 3 reserves (by a play-off). Players knocked-out will be sent a PM to register interest in the play-off. They will have 24 hours to respond. After the first round, reserves will be drawn from players succeeding in reserves play-offs. The top 2 reserves will be sent a PM when an opening occurs. The first reserve to respond will gain a place. If no reserve is found within 24 hours then a PM will be sent to the next 2 reserves. This will continue until a reserve is found. If no players are found from the reserves participating in play-offs then reserves will be sought from the original reserve list (again 24-hour response time). If this is unsuccessful then a reserve will be recruited by mass PM (again 24-hour response time). If this is still unsuccessful then the matches in question will take place with one fewer player.
Joining Matches show
Players will be informed when they have a match and will have 24 hours to join. If they fail to do so then they will be ejected from the tournament and a reserve will replace them.
Winning Matches show
Winners of each match are expected to PM the Tournament Organiser the order in which players finished (1st, 2nd etc.), and no. of terminations for each player.
Build-Up Matches show
The position of players after 24 rounds will determine how they progress (or in the finals, the number of terminations achieved at this point will be carried forward to the second match which will then start). If (in the quarter or semi-finals) not enough players have achieved terminations to determine who progresses, the match would continue until two players have achieved terminations (with those two players progressing). The remainder of the game would then be a points-only affair.
