Dividedbyzero's Freemium Alchemy - Turning Silver into Gold

Winner: God Emperor Q !

I'm looking for a few good Freemium players. One will walk away as the winner of the tourney and a year's premium membership.

Here are the details:
  • 20 entrants, 3 reserves
  • 4 player games - All std/escalating/chained/sunny
--> Changed to 6 player games due to losing 2 players and no additional reserves.
  • 1 game for each contestant per week
  • 5 total rounds - separated by map types
    • Simple maps - Asia, Australia, Canada, Europe, France
    • Gimmick maps - Circus Maximus, Draknor - Level 1, Dust Bowl, Oasis, Waterloo
    • Small maps - Duck N Cover, Doodle Earth, Madagascar, Luxembourg, USA West
    • Larger maps - North America, Soviet Union, Solar System, US Senate, Montreal
--> Dropping Solar System and Senate since we only need 3 maps
    • Classic Art as the final map for all
  • Grouped at random into the 4p games
  • Winner of a game gets 4pts, 2nd gets 3pts, 3rd gets 2pts, 4th gets 1pt
    --> Points: 6,5,4,3,2,1
  • Most points at the end wins
  • Centerscape as Tiebreaker if needed

Rules:
  • Foe lists, of course, take a backseat to the tourney. If you happen to have someone on foe, you will be expected to remove them for any tourney games.
  • Players will have 48 hours to join a game. Please be courteous to your fellow players and join as quickly as possible. Since you know there will be one game per week, keep a spot open.
  • If you have to drop out for any reason, please let me know. Don't just deadbeat. Reserves will be subbed in for the next round and will inherit the points of the person they replace.
  • Play with honor. Have fun.

Player lists and standings will be maintained here in the first post under the spoiler tags.

I signed into another tourney...

But, I'd love to be in this one! (Can I be in both...? This would be my preference -- more versatility!)

Thanks.

That's between you and the other tournament organizer. Get back to me ASAP on whether or not you're sure on this.

Save me a spot anyway, but I come with questions...

O.k so I get that we divided into 5 groups of four, but how many games each group play??? is it all five maps per round, or there is a setting set already for which group will play which games, or is it gonna be randomize and each group will get individual settings?

Now the scoring, who is advance from the group, after the number of games that you'll answer, just the winner of the group, the top two???
The finals the will be 5 players games on the same (all, randomized) maps???

You play one game per round - 5 rounds total. The map you will play on will be drawn at random. All settings are the same - standard/escalating/chained/sunny (that's noted in the 1st post). All players advance each round...you will play 5 games total.

In the first round, you will play on one of the 5 simple maps listed - drawn at random for who plays on which map.
In the second round, you will play on one of the 5 gimmick maps listed - drawn at random for who plays on which map.
In the third round, you will play on one of the 5 small maps listed - drawn at random for who plays on which map.
In the fourth round, you will play on one of the 5 larger maps listed - drawn at random for who plays on which map.
In the last round, you will play on classic art - drawn at random for who plays whom.

The winner is determined by points - 4pts per win, 3 for 2nd place, 2 for 3rd, 1 for last - for each game.

Make sense ?

O.K, so this means I can be drawn to play one player 4 or even 5 time and not to play another at all, and yet win the tourney because of the good draw of players I play against or not even reach the 10 points if I have a bad draw...

Make sense, not so much for equality, but I'm in anyway...

It's more of a "be prepared for anything" sort of situation. You won't know who you will potentially play or on what map until you get the PM telling you. To misquote Neal, the winner will be "capable of displaying adaptability." :)
