This is our first foray into the creation of a tournament and we are huge Frak’n Battlestar Galactica fans. So we figured…what the hell, let’s do a BSG Tournament!!!
Once we chose our theme (which was so frak’n easy!), we set out to determine how one would pay homage to BSG using the many maps at our disposal on CC. So here goes nothing…
Our journey begins in the great expanse of Space as Humans and Cylons (aka skinjobs or toasters) battle in a race to find earth…and destroy each other. As with any race, there are many individual battles that determine the outcome…and the winner!!! As the race hurtles closer to earth, Humans and Cylons continue to ravage each other within the boundaries of our very own Solar System. After many years of battles in Space and in through our Solar System, the Humans and Cylons fight for earth on every continent, North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia, and for the whole World 2.1 itself!!!
Who will prevail? Humans? Toasters? You Choose.

We need 64 Players to Start. Premiums only since multiple games will be played each round. We would also like 5 reserves. If we do not get enough reserves, Snakedoctor and Chemefreak will serve as reserves.

FRAK’N ROUND 1
64 Players
Randomly placed into 16 groups of 4 players (by random.org)
Each group will play 5 games on the Space map
Settings for each game will be:
Standard, Sequential, Escalating Spoils, Chained Fortifications, No Fog of War
Points will be awarded in each game as follows:
1st Place = 5 pts
2nd Place = 3 pts
3rd Place = 2 pts
4th Place = 1 pt
Top 2 in each group will move on to the next round
In the case of a tie, tiebreaker will be determined by countback (highest number of rounds survived total in all 5 games will advance). If the players are still tied after countback, they will play an winner-takes-all match as described in the Final Round.
Points will reset at the start of each round.
FRAK’N ROUND 2
32 Players
Seeded by scores from Round 1 into 4 groups of 8 players
Each group will play 5 games on the Solar System map
Settings for each game will be:
Standard, Sequential, Escalating Spoils, Chained Fortifications, No Fog of War
Points will be awarded in each game as follows:
1st Place = 10 pts
2nd Place = 7 pts
3rd Place = 6 pts
4th Place = 5 pts
5th Place = 4 pts
6th Place = 3 pts
7th Place = 2 pts
8th Place = 1 pt
Top 2 in each group will move on to the final round
In the case a tie, tiebreaker will be determined by countback. If the players are still tied after countback, they will play an winner-takes-all match as described in the Final Round.
FRAK’N FINAL ROUND
8 Players
This final group will play 7 games, one each on the following maps: World 2.1, North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia.
Settings for each game will be:
Standard, Sequential, Escalating Spoils, Chained Fortifications, No Fog of War
Points will be awarded in each game as follows:
1st Place = 10 pts
2nd Place = 7 pts
3rd Place = 6 pts
4th Place = 5 pts
5th Place = 4 pts
6th Place = 3 pts
7th Place = 2 pts
8th Place = 1 pt
Highest point total is the WINNER!!!!
In case of a tie in the Final Round, countback will not be used, the tied players will play in a winner-take-all tiebreaker on Arms Race! (Because everyone loves playing with frak'n NUKES!!!) The settings will be sequential, chained, escalating, sunny.
Players will have 72 hours to join their games. They will be given a warning after 48 hours. If the player has not joined in 72 hours they will be replaced by an alternate in the first round, or substituted by the next best player (score then countback) from the previous round in rounds after round one. Thanks.
