Feudal War (as it should be played)[Winner: Chariot of Fire]

As my first tournament draws to a close, I believe it is time to begin recruiting for my next one...

"The FEUDAL WAR (as it should be played) TOURNAMENT"

I have played a lot of Feudal War games and I believe that the Feudal War map should be played with No spoils, Chained reinforcements and lots of Fog. This tournament reflects my philosophy and invites those of a like mind and passion for this map to battle it out for supremacy.

I will not be taking part in the tournament but I will act as a reserve if needed.

A long time ago in a galaxy far away...

I completed my first tournament - The Champions League Tournament in February 2009.

Chariot of Fire lost in the Semi-Final - 72 people joined and he made the last 4. So when I sent out the call for this tournament, (as the Champions League was winding down), on the 23rd January at 14:05, it was no surprise to see that Chariot of Fire was the first to sign up at 14:20 - 15 minutes later!

Less than 24 hours after that the tournament was over-subscibed and after a further 24 hours the first games were sent out and the (Feudal) war began...

Chariot of Fire began the Round 1 steadily with a good score of 13 points - comfortable mid-table. He managed to gain points in every category except the 2 Player Singles, but he made up for that with an impressive 5pts from his first two Terminator games.

Round 2 brought an additional 16pts to his score. Again he scored well across the board and he nicely made up for his poor performance in the last rounds 2 & 3 Player Singles with an excellent 4 out of 4 in this round. 29 points so far and he was in a comfortable place just below the front runners.

Round 3 was his round. With the steady acceleration of a thorough-bred race horse on the final bend he pushed the momentum up another notch. 19 points came to him this round (twice the average) and it was just too much pressure for his closest rivals. 48pts was his total at the conclusion of the round and he had clear blue water (8pts) between him and the chasing pack (excuse the mixed metaphors please). The title was his to lose, would the pressure crack him?

For a while it seemed it might. Round 4 began with gordito closing the gap to 4pts and downfall taking points off him in the 2 Player Singles. Then DBandit70 started to close in and all Chariot of Fire could muster was a 2pt singles win... but then it happened (on April Fools Day no less 8-[

) - like a sledge hammer down upon the clay pots of everyone else's hope - 5pts in one day and 11pts ahead.

. There was only one person with an outside chance of catching him - Bigragooch. His task? To win everything left to win and get at least 5pts from his 2 Terminator games. He started well, gaining 5pts at CoF's expense, but then he was wiped out of one of the Terminator games without scoring a point by... Chariot of Fire! The game was up, the chips were down and the ship had sailed. gordito was runner-up but...

Chariot of Fire had won.

All that remained was for me to say...
