Welcome to Tupence's European Tournament III!
Following two successful European Tournaments, here's a third, bigger one! Players do not have to be European, this tournament is open to all!
Freemiums are welcome, but you will need three slots open at all times...95%+ attendance please.
The tournament will start off with 8-player games for the first 3 rounds, then it's 6-player games to the end. Each game will have points awarded:
8-player: 10, 7, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0
6-player: 8, 5, 3, 2, 1, 0
All points carry over to the next round.
Each Round will have 3 games:
Round 1 - 16 Groups of 8 - France, Ireland, Iceland - Bottom 2 eliminated
Round 2 - 12 Groups of 8 - Ancient Greece, Portugal, Iberia - Bottom 2 eliminated
Round 3 - 9 Groups of 8 - Italy, Malta, San Marino - Bottom 2 eliminated
Round 4 - 9 Groups of 6 - Luxembourg, Netherlands, BeNeLux - Bottom 2 eliminated
Round 5 - 6 Groups of 6 - Scotland, Wales, England* - Bottom 2 eliminated
Quarter Finals - 4 Groups of 6 - Germany 2, Holy Roman Empire, France 1789 - Bottom 3 eliminated
Semi Finals - 2 Groups of 6 - Europe, Rail Europe, Europe 1914 - Bottom 3 eliminated
Grand Final - 1 Group of 6 - Three games on Europa - Player with the most points wins!
*Hopefully the England map will be out of the Foundry by then. If not, British Isles 2 will be used instead.
As players get knocked out I will keep track of their score and place them on the Reserves' Leaderboard - if a player drops out, the player at the top of the Reserves' Leaderboard will take their place.
If players are tied for places to avoid elimination, the player who scored the most points in that round will go through. If they are still tied, I will look at the score for the previous round (like the count-back system in some athletics events).
If players are tied in Round 1, I will look for the players' highest finishing position, e.g. a player who finished 4th, 7th, and 8th would go through over a player who finished 5th, 7th and 7th.
