Note: new scoring format finalized
Player will have 72 hours (3 days) to join their games once they have been sent...I will send out a reminder after 48 hours, but will go to the reserves list if games are left open over a prolonged period.
Of course, I'm completely flexible if you have vacations or other commitments that will keep you away for periods...just give me a heads up before you leave.
thanks flex
TOURNEY RULES:
This is a 1 vs. 1 singles tournament that will follow the NFL football season. 32 players…one for each of the 32 NFL teams. Tournament is open to freebies and premium players, I just ask that freebies keep pace with play…several maps each week.
GAME PLAY
All games are SEQUENTIAL…other than that all settings are accepted…and all maps are in play except for the Age of Realms series and small maps such as Doodle Earth and Duck & Cover.
• The “Special Teams” showdown will be played on a different predetermined map for each week of the season…settings will be chained, flat, sunny for those matches. Maps for each week are listed at the end of this post.
SCORING
A scoring formula (see below) will reward players for quick victories and accomplishing various other tasks during each quarter of play. Each game will be broken into four quarters (four maps) along with a special teams battle.
That makes five total maps to decide each “game”, however total points will be used to determine the official winner — it will be possible for a team to win just 2 of the 5 maps and still come out in front. Although I would expect winning 3 of 5 maps would most often land you a victory.
• In the case of overtime...each team will face off on the special teams map. A win in 12 rounds or less gives you the winning points…if the overtime map goes 13+ rounds then that game will end in a tie. (ties not allowed in playoffs, of course).
SEASON
The season will follow the NFL schedule with a new game each week…16 games in the regular season…every team has a bye week at some point. The playoffs also follow the NFL format with the top six NFC teams and the top six AFC teams going to the postseason.
The winner of the Super Bowl will be declared the winning team for this tournament.
32 total teams....Division winners advance to playoffs along with two wildcard teams in each the AFC and NFC (see playoff bracket post)
Just typing a bit more so the image drops below all the CC medals...
