Warrior Poets [Completed, Winner: perchorin]

Robert Heinlein once famously wrote, "Specialization is for insects." In that spirit I introduce a tournament which rewards not only the strategists amongst you, but also those of a more literary persuasion.

The game settings are simple. The number of rounds and number of players each round will be determined by the number of people who sign up, but I would like at least 36. Except for the final game, however, the number of players in each game will be at least 6. The settings for all games are Standard, Automatic, Sequential, Escalating, Chained, Sunny, Casual, on the map Japan.

The choice of map is significant because there are two ways to advance to the next round. The first is the standard method: win the game. A spot in the next round of the tournament will also be awarded to the person who writes the best haiku, as judged by yours truly. The haiku must be totally original (and you better believe I'll be running Google searches, so don't test me), rhythmically accurate, and submitted in the game chat. I will judge the haiku on equal parts depth and humor, with full score given to a poem that is both funny and profound. The exception is, of course, if the tournament comes down to just two people, in which case the winner will indeed take all.

Each participant will play no more than one game at a time, so all members are welcome.

Oh, and anyone who plagiarizes will be immediately dismissed, just in case that didn't go without saying.

Updated.

Also, I just read the Wikipedia article on haiku and despite what it says I will indeed be looking for a three-line poem of the 5-7-5 syllable structure. I do not know Japanese so the English version of the poetic form will have to suffice.
