Thank You, KidWhisky!
To a tournament organiser, a positive comment about an update that took forever to finish makes it all worth. A nice and original sign up can bring a smile on the face. Knowledge that somebody appreciates the work put into colourful scoreboards gives a warm feeling. Sometimes a simple thanks for a well ran tournament can mean so much after a gloomy day. For all the positive comments I've received during my tournament organising "career" I'd like to give something back to the players who have stood out to me as people who really enjoy tournaments and have given something positive back to the organisers. You, the players, probably don't get this too often so here's something that I really want to say. Thank you!
KidWhisky is a really swell and positive guy who has honoured me with a lot of signups since my second tournament. I've had a pleasure to introduce him to Generation One, my clan, where he was accepted as a member. He'll be away from CC for awhile due to real life changes but I wish him all the best in his adventures and want to thank him for the positive effect for the tournaments he has played in!
We will use the settings that KW announced as his favourite ones in January 2007 when he had to fill an application for G1. Settings that didn't exist then (or he didn't mention), will be chosen by me in hope that I got them correctly and marked in brackets.
Classic, 8 player, Standard, Sequential, Escalating, Chained (Automatic, Sunny, Casual)
2 games will be played at once most of the time, freemiums welcome.
Setup
It's a 32-player tournament with 2 rounds - qualifying and finals.
In qualifying round players will be assigned randomly to 4 groups and each group will play 8 games. Top 2 scoring players from each group will advance to finals where another 8 games will be played. Top scoring person in finals wins the tournament.
Scoring
My expectations of players signing up

Scoring
- We'll be using Fibonacci numbers for scoring.
1st place - 21 points
2nd - 13
3rd - 8
4th - 5
5th - 3
6th - 2
7th - 1
8th - 1 - In case of a tie, number of wins will be the deciding factor. If this won't help then a best out of 7 series will be played to decide advancing/winner.
My expectations of players signing up
- Positive attitude!
- No whining!
- Great sportsmanship!
- Attendance of 98%+ (exceptions allowed as I see fit)
- Cool avatar (if you don't know KW then you surely have noticed his avatar!)
