Welcome to Matt's Random Round Robin! I am a big fan of random maps as I hope you are. Also I like to play round robin so here is what you need to know:
32 person 1v1, 2v2, and 4 person free for all
Premium Only
Lieutenant 1600+ only
Games will each be Random map, sequential, automatic, escalating, chained, no fog
There will start off being 32 players in 8 groupings. Each person will be placed in a 4 person group at random. In your group you will play 3 game types: Doubles, 1v1, and a standard 4 person free for all. The top 2 scoring players from each group will advance in each round until we get to the final 2 which will be 1v1 of course. So it will go from 32-16-8-4-2-Champion!
Each round you will be matched with a random doubles partner from your group to play with against the other two players. You will play 1v1 against a randomly chosen opponent in your group as well. And lastly you will play a 4 person free for all game.
Scoring
Doubles game - 2 points
4 person free for all - 2 points
1v1 - 1 point
An example would be:
Player A - 3 points
Player B - 3 points
Player C - 2 points
Player D - 0 points
In the event of a tie for the second spot you will play a 1v1 match up against the other player. The amount of games you play for the 1v1 tie breaker will be the same amount as in each round which I have listed below. Here's how each round works:
Round 1
1 - Doubles game
1 - 1v1 game
1 - Standard 4 person free for all game
Round 2 & 3
Best of 3 - Doubles game
Best of 3 - 1v1 (By suggestion of josko.ri you will play each 1v1 game against a different opponent in your group and you must win 2 to earn the 1 point)
1 Standard 4 person free for all
SemiFinals
Best of 5 - Doubles game
Best of 5 - 1v1
1 Standard 4 person free for all
*Note - Even though you are playing 3,5 doubles games and 3,5 1v1 games in round 2-4 you still only get 2 points total for your doubles win and 1 point total for a 1v1 win.
Finals
1v1 Best of 11
That's all folks! Best of luck to you!
I will be sending out Free for all games first and the doubles, and heads up games half way through to prevent manipulation of the tournament format. If you have any questions just P.M. me or post in the thread.
