[winner: Maverick0711] Initech XXX: BeNeLux
Posted: Tue Sep 27, 2011 7:52 pm
The 30th version of Initech is a single-player edition with a bit of a new format twist. Like (almost) all Initechs, this will be flat/chained/foggy throughout. And it will take place on maps in the Low Countries area in Europe. I present... Initech XXX: BeNeLux!
OVERVIEW
2-round, 54-game, 4-map, 20-player tournament. All players will play a minimum of 9 games. Games will be 4-player in the first round and 5-player in the Finals.
ELIGIBLE PLAYERS
Premium only, sorry. You'll need more than 4 games open at all times.
RULES & MAPS
All games will be Automatic, Sequential, Chained, Flat Rate, Foggy.
BeNeLux, Netherlands, Flanders 1302 and Luxembourg will be the maps used throughout the tournament.
There will be a 50-round limit for the BeNeLux standard games only.
POINT SYSTEM
Throughout the entire tournament, the following point system will be utilized:
Each Standard map win will be worth 15 points.
Each Terminator map win will be worth 5 points, with each elimination (including the final one) being worth 2 points.
Each Assassin map win will be worth 10 points.
FORMAT
In the first round, players will be divided into 5 groups of 4 players each. Each group will play 9 games as follows:
2 games on Luxembourg (assassin and terminator)
2 games on Netherlands (assassin and terminator)
2 games on Flanders 1302 (assassin and terminator)
3 games on BeNeLux (assassin, terminator and standard)
The player with the most points from the group, based on the scoring system above, advances to the Finals. In the Finals, the same exact process is repeated, but with 5-player games. The player with the most points in the Finals is champion.
TIEBREAKER
The first tiebreaker at any stage of the tournament is the winner of the BeNeLux standard game from that round. If none of the tied players won the standard game, the second tiebreaker will be most points from the previous round. If still tied (or if there was no previous round), the tiebreaker will be a best-of-three series, with tournament settings but no spoils, on Netherlands, Flanders 1302 and Luxembourg.
