Champion of Peloponnesia II Champion Series #7 (Relentless – 1 v 1) Congratulations to the winner - DJ Teflon Q: What is a ‘relentless’ tournament?
A: It is for relentless players – you get just 14 hours to take your turn.
If you take any longer than that more than once (in any single match) then you lose the match. If you miss a turn once (in any single match) then you lose the match. Simple!
It is up to players to report any infractions to the Tournament Organiser.
This tournament involes three mini-round-robin stages.
As per previous relentless tournaments, the idea is that we progress quickly through the rounds.
(Click Here for Games) Details: show
First Round: Four groups of 5 players play each other once in a round-robin format. The 2 players with most wins* will progress (in the event of a tie then the fastest victory (number of rounds) will determine finishing positions – if these are also equal then a one match tie-break will take place**). Players finishing third in each group will play a 1 match play-off with the winner progressing.Semi-Finals: Two groups of 5 players play each other once in a round-robin format. The 2 players with most wins* will progress (in the event of a tie then a one match tie-break will take place**). Players finishing third in each group will play a 1 match play-off with the winner progressing.Final: One group of 5 players play each other twice in a round-robin format. The player with most wins* becomes the tournament winner. In the event of a tie, a best-of-3 play-off battle will take place if there are two tied players (and another double-round-robin if there are more than two players).* A win only counts if completed within 30 rounds (see below). ** If the tie doesn't concern qualifying positions then finishing positions will be determined by comparing second-fastest win, then most rounds survived in defeat(s), and finally by number of troops remaining in winning games. Tie-breaks between 3 or more players will involve a one match round-robin (if the round-robin produces a further tie then positions will be determined by comparing tie -break matches by fastest win, then most rounds survived in defeat(s), and finally by number of troops remaining in winning games).
Match Options show
Matches will take place on the Peloponnesian War map. Each match will be Manual, Sequential with No Spoils, Adjacent Reinforcements and Fog of War. Tie-Breaks will be Escalating. Play-Offs are no spoils.
Players show
There will be 20 players. Players must have a 97% attendance record, have played a minimum 25 matches, and not have dropped out from one of my tournaments previously! Premium required. Players will have 24 hours to join their matches from when the joining PM is sent. Failure to do so will result in a reserve being sought (harsh, I know). Winners of each match should PM the Tournament Organiser.
Build-Up Matches show
If there is no winner after completion of the 30th round, the match in question will be declared a draw. This applies to all games, including tie-breakers. The 'relentless' rule no longer applies after the 30-round limit.
Reserves show
For the semi-finals and final, reserve PMs will initially be sent to the player(s) losing in the previous round's tie-breakers. If this player(s) does not respond within 24 hours, then all players eliminated in the previous round will be sent a PM. When a PM is sent, the first reserve to respond will gain a place. For the first round, reserves will be drawn from the reserve list.
Joining Matches show
Players will be informed when they have a match and will have 24 hours to join. If they fail to do so then they will be ejected from the tournament and a reserve will replace them.
Winning Matches show
Winners of each match are expected to PM the Tournament Organiser.
Seedings / The Draw show
Players will be drawn at random by random.org.
