Thank You, dtellis!
To a tournament organiser, a positive comment about an update that took forever to finish makes it all worth. A nice and original sign up can bring a smile on the face. Knowledge that somebody appreciates the work put into colourful scoreboards gives a warm feeling. Sometimes a simple thanks for a well ran tournament can mean so much after a gloomy day. For all the positive comments I've received during my tournament organising "career" I'd like to give something back to the players who have stood out to me as people who really enjoy tournaments and have given something positive back to the organisers. You, the players, probably don't get this too often so here's something that I really want to say. Thank you!
Dtellis is such a great guy! He might not be noticed outside of his clan forums a lot but that just who he is - quiet but deadly. Whenever you meet him on a battlefield you know that you are up for a tight game where you have to give more than 100% to beat him and he is the guy you want on your team because he knows exactly what he is doing. All of it is reflected in his rank, it's really rare when it drops below colonel. And in all this, he always has ultimate respect for everybody!
Casual, 1v1 and 6-player, Standard, Automatic, Sequential, Escalating, Chained, Foggy
Maps: Space, Crossword, American Civil War, Solar System, Alexander's Empire
Freemium players are welcome but must keep 2 slots for the tournament all the time!
Setup
It's a 36-player [changed to 30 on Aug 15, 2010] tournament with 2 rounds - qualifying and finals.
Qualifying round consists of 6-player games. All games are made randomly and the round will last until 4 players have reached 7 wins. So, yes, only winning a game counts and scores you points. All 5 maps will be used in this round in the order they are posted above. In finals, the 4 players will play in a double elimination bracket and in a best-of-5 series to decide winner of the tournament.
My expectations of players signing up
