Cookie Battle
Dedicated to Generation One: The Clan and especially to Bones2484.
Everybody with 2 open spots are welcome! Premiums are asked to play up to 4 games time to time.
Once upon a time there lived a Girl who more than anything liked coconut cookies. She had learned the skill of making them from her grandmother who is the best coconut cookie cooker you'll ever meet. Yes, that's right, she is the best and if you ask nicely, her secret recipe will be shared along with pictures of those delicious creatures. One day, on a beautiful sunny day the Girl went out exploring the world and stumbled upon a group of funny metallic creatures - Bots! Though, at first they seemed friendly, she realised that there's something strange about them. Nevertheless, they become good friends and she was soon accepted into their amazing group. Time moved on, things changed and truth was revealed... THEY DIDN'T LIKE COCONUT COOKIES! They preferred peanutbutter cookies. What a shame, she said, what a shame. Now now, don't think like that! It didn't come between their friendship but to make sure that no bad air stays between them, it's time to settle this once and for all. It's time for the first Cookie Battle!
This is serious business and therefore things will not be taken lightly. There are 2 sides - Coconut Cookie Lovers (CCL) and Peanutbutter Cookie Lovers (PCL). Settings for the first side will be chosen by The Girl and second side by The Bot. Battle cannot occur with less than 64 people (32 on each side). Please notice that round 1 will go on for 32 weeks (2 new games will be sent out every week - exceptions will be made to freemiums if games take longer than a week to end).
Constant settings: 1v1 Sequential and Casual.
CCL settings: Crossword, Automatic, Escalating, Chained, Sunny.
PCL settings: Chinese Checkers, Automatic, Escalating, Chained, Sunny.
Tiebreaker settings: Classic, Automatic, No Spoils, Adjacent, Sunny.
Setup
In Round 1 every CCL will play 2 games against PCL (once on both settings) and whichever side bakes more cookies... erm, I mean earns more wins, advances to round 2 where a 32-player best-of-3 bracket (games: 2xwinners' settings+Tiebreaker settings) will be played, seeding will be made according to round 1 results (most wins against least wins, etc). Winner of the bracket is declared winner of the tournament. Edit on January 5, 2011: Bracket has been changed to best-of-7 because it is more fair when taken under consideration how long round 1 was.
A Contest Achievement Medal will be awarded to the player of the loser side who baked the most cookies... eeh, had the most wins in round 1.
Second Contest Achievement Medal (renamed to General Achievement Medal) will be awarded to the reserve player of the losing side with the best winning percentage (minimum 10 games played).
Reserves' Policy
As a contest medal is at stake then I feel I need to add an extra condition/clarification to the tournament. If you come in as a reserve then you will take over the points played by the person you replaced for your side (either Coconut or Peanutbutter) but you won't inherit the wins for your personal score which means that you start with 0 wins. You will take over all the games played both to your side and for yourself. For example, if LousyDeadbeat (who you replace) had played 10 games with 5 wins then you will start with 10 played games and 0 wins.
