Welcome to the Tournament of Nations II-Europe Edition
This will be my second tournament as a host, and the second Tournament of Nations.
"Freemiums" will be allowed to participate, however you will need to have TWO game slots open at a time.
Details: All games will have the following settings: Terminator, Freestyle, Automatic, Flat Rate, Unlimited, Fog
Every player will choose a nation/region (from the options given below), in one of eight regions/categories (with four players per region/category). Every nation has a map that corresponds with it (in parenthesis next to the region name), which will be considered your home map for the first two rounds. In the first round you will face the other four players in four, four player games (one on each of your home maps). These games will be played two at a time. To advance to round two, you must score within the top 2 of your group. The points scoring system is as follows: 1 point per Termination, 1 point per Game Victory, and whatever points you score on your home map will be doubled. Note: If a player wins a game based on 'victory conditions' (such as holding territories on certain maps), they will be credited as terminating all players that had yet to be eliminated; in addition to receiving the bonus point for winning the game.
If two players are tied in their group, your rank in the group will be determined by when you were eliminated in every game, in order. For example if player 1 and player 2 both had 12 points, and both players had 1 1st place finish, but player #1 had 2 2nd place finishes, while player # 2 had only 1 2nd place finish, then player #1 would be ranked ahead of player #2. If two players happen to be tied in every category, it will be determined by your amount of CC points, the player with FEWER points going through to the next round.
This format will continue through round 2 with the exception that you and the person that advanced from the same group will face the two winners from another group, again playing four four player games (one at everyone's home map), two at a time.
In round 3, you will receive a new home map, the one corresponding to the group in which you began (in Round 1). If there are two people representing this region, the map will be played on twice, the first time will be the home game for the higher ranked player (by CC points), the second time will be the home game for the lower ranked player (by CC points). The two top scoring people from your group will advance to the final round.
In the final round, round 4, the four players lucky enough to get to the final will play at four "European maps" (Europe, Europa, Napoleonic Europe, and Random) so the "double home points" rule is no longer in effect, as none of the maps are home maps to anyone. And this time, the person who finishes in the first group will win the tournament.
Here is the list of nations and the home maps per nation. Winners from group 1 will play those from group 2, those from 3 play 4, etc. In round 3, winners from groups 1/2 will play winners from groups 3/4, and 5/6 will play 7/8.
As players join, their names will be posted beside the nation of their choice. I will also need two reserves.
Congrats on the finalists from the first tournament (The Tournament of Nations): bendaman, Walslaf, Barum Boy & the winner, brakh
If you would like to join, please post your nation you would like to represent in the thread. Thanks!
