All games 1v1
Welcome to the NFL history tournament. The first season did take place in 1920 but there were not enough teams (14) to meet Conquer Club tournaments rules so we started with the 1921 season which was won by HighlanderAttack's Cincinnati Celts.
Financial difficulties meant teams dropped out of the league on a yearly basis, and in some seasons when the league got underway, not all of them finished. Back in the early days, the teams arranged their own fixtures so the fixtures are fixed for tournament play, you will play 6 games at home, 6 games away. Your 12 games will be against 12 different opponents.
That of course means that there will be 5 teams in the league that you will not play against, it's a different 5 for every team so in theory, we could have 2 teams competing with each other for the title who will never play each other.
The fixtures have already been decided so you won't know who you play and who you don't until all spaces have been filled. There are no play-offs, top of the league after game 12 wins.
Pick your home map and settings. Any map is allowed and the only setting not being allowed is freestyle, you can have anything else. There will only be 1 game per fixture, not best of 3 so bad drop, bad dice = bad luck. You lose.
Join the tournament and you will only play 12 games (unless a title decider is needed)
There is a restriction of each game having to be completed within 12 rounds, goes beyond round 12 and the game is declared a tie for tournament purposes. Tied games were not officially counted in the standings in the NFL until 1972. The league table is decided by your win-loss percentage. A team with less wins than you can technically finish above you with this rule.
