yep - check out rounds 3 and 4. you still have 18 players after round 3, so your maths is off as you predicted.

Thanks but math is correct.
Round 1-6 advance to r4, 24 move to r2 Round 2-6 advance to r4, 18 move to r3 Round 3-6 advance to r4, and all other are eliminated Round 4-18 winners from r1-r3
6(r1)+6(r2)+6(r3)=18 players for round 4
