Amazing Race: History of War [TPA]
This is a Tournament Players Association (TPA) event and is governed by its rules, guidelines, and judgments. All are welcome to join and participate in the association. You need do nothing more than join one or more of the TPA events that will be announced each Monday. Check back on the TPA scoreboard in the Tournaments--> General Info forum to see how you're doing.
Based on the CBS show The Amazing Race, this tournament will be a series of 6-player doubles games with teams being dropped at each stage.
I am needing 33 doubles teams to register to compete.
*Premium Membership is Required*
In this season, teams will race through Historical Wars. They will have to make stops at 10 different venues before making 1 final dash to the finish (3 more rounds than previous versions). The places of interest for this season will consist of
Format:
The 33 teams will be randomly assigned to 11 different groups. These groups will play 3 games on each map.
Points will be awarded as follows:
At the end of all the games on the first map, the lowest 3 teams overall will be dropped from the tournament. In case of a tie, the teams who played the most rounds will advance (meaning they put up the better fight).
The advancing teams will continue on to the next map in different, randomly assigned groups. Points will reset for each map, but a running tally of points will be kept. 3 more teams will be dropped after each map based on the performance within that round. For ties, the TOTAL amount of points will be used, with the higher team(s) advancing. If that can’t break it, the team that played the most rounds within that map will advance.
This will continue until the final map, Battle For Iraq, where the first team to 2 wins will be crowned the winner, regardless of what happened in the previous rounds. If the other 2 teams both win 0 or 1 game, TPA rankings will be determined by the total score (just like previous round tiebreakers).
TPA Rankings: Teams will be ranked based on where they are eliminated, with the tiebreakers also being in effect. If a tiebreaker can’t separate the teams eliminated within that round, the teams will share that rank in the TPA standings. Therefore, the 3 teams eliminated each round will still be ranked in the overall standings, with the “last team out” getting the highest ranking in the standing for that round. The points per position will be determined by the TPA Scoring Method.
