I really don't get the rules for this tournament...please clarify, what is the objective for each round? Each inbetween round? How do you advance? How do you get eliminated?

I am also not sure. from which i understood, i think that the first killed player becomes eliminated. so then no matter whop win the game, it is just matter who made first kill. is it true?

IMO it is interesating way of elimination, but the most important should be who win the game.

so, if eliminated is player from loosing team who are first eliminated (no matter if he is first eliminated in whole game) then it would have more sense.

I saw where you re-invited redzonejoe. He is a freeum, but has all four slots open. He also said that he thought he had joined. Do you know what the problem is??? The game is now still waiting on a player for our game and redzonejoe still would like to play. GAME 8263690.

The first person eliminated won't play any more games UNLESS his team wins 4 games before the opposing team does. The person that eliminated first, will be on a "break" until someone from his team is eliminated.

I don't know what the issue is there, but I'm just about ready to send in reserves.

There's our issue...

The first member of the LOSING team is eliminated from the rest of the round.

I am pretty sure the original rules for this tournament were set so it was the first player eliminated, period. Not the first player eliminated from the losing team. Those are the rules that we signed up under and I don't think you should change them because some players asked for clarification and then disagreed in the forum.

You had all of us sign up before that change was made in the forums and I know that I personally thought it was an intriguing idea and liked it. More importantly, we played our first game with the intention that we just needed the first elimination, which we already have now because those were the rules when we read them before the game started.

Maybe I am in the minority here, but regardless, even if I am, they are the rules that we signed up to participate with.

Brought to you by the Entertainment Team

Freemiums can participate, but will need 1 game slot open at all times.

It's That time of year again. So once again we decided to cheer up, be merry, and present an amazing tournament with a PREMIUM PRIZE!

Settings
Map: Christmas (special edition map)
Players per game: 2 to 8
Game Type: 1v1, 4-player doubles, triples & quads
Initial Troops: Automatic
Play Order: Sequential
Spoils: Escalating
Reinforcements: Chained
Fog of War: Off
Round Length: Casual

Setup
  • This will be a standard bracket-type tournament, single elimination. You will be seeded according to OVERALL score and will be placed into the bracket in that way, IE 1v32, 2v31, 3v30, etc.
  • You will begin a snowball fight with your opponents in a quads game. The first person eliminated from the team will then be eliminated from that round.
  • The person that made the first elimination will sit out of the next game, which would be a triples game.
  • If the same team loses again, the game turns into doubles, then 1v1.
  • If multiple wins are scored in succession, whoever HASN'T made an elimination will be playing in the game.
  • Each round the player's playability will be restored.
  • The team that makes it through without losing all four players in a single round will be the winners.

Prizes
Each member of the winning team of the tournament will receive 6 months Premium membership and a general achievement medal. Prize is donated by Entertainment team.

Notes
  • This tournament is part of CC Winter Festivus 2010.
  • Signing up to the tournament counts when posted to this topic (only one member of the team needs to make a post).
  • Players have 72 hours to join the games. I will send a reminder after around 36-48.
  • Any issues will be solved by the tournament organiser and his word is final.

You may sign up, even if you don't have a team, I will form a team with people that sign up in singles.

from the other side, I signed up with thinking that first eliminated player from loosing team will be out from the competition. then other player's questions in the thread make me doubt it is not like that. the same sentence may be understanding on more ways if not full clarified.

IMO, if your understanding of rule is correct, then original rule should be:
"You will begin a snowball fight with your opponents in a quads game. The first person eliminated from a team will then be eliminated from that round."

rules were written like that:
"You will begin a snowball fight with your opponents in a quads game. The first person eliminated from the team will then be eliminated from that round.

using "a" or "the" may have different meaning. if he used "a" then it would mean "from any team", but he used "the" so it mean "from exactly defined team".
I supposed the exactly defined team is loosing team (so I signed up with thinking it is rule), but other player's question made doubts in my head about that.
so, I think the rule is not changed, it is only explained.

so, you cannot say that from original sentence about that rule can be only one conclusion, which you realized. obviously, more of us understood it on different ways. fortunately, Gilligan cleared doubts now about what did he mean with that rule.

That very well may be the case that the intention was for it to be the losing team the entire time, but the way it was worded I think most people read it as the first person eliminated period and those are the rules they signed up for. Everyone I know who read it all thought the same thing as me, the first player eliminated from the game is eliminated from that round.

Soo, since my team's game hasn't started yet, could we please clarify as to what exactly the rules mean? I would appreciate the creator of the tourney to give input on this issue of whether 1. the first player eliminated causes that team to lose and the player to sit out or 2. the first player eliminated from the losing team is to sit out. Personally, I don't see how 1 makes sense, since once one person becomes eliminated, the game becomes meaningless...

It's pretty obvious he accidentally left out the word "losing" in the original rules. If you really thought it meant the first person eliminated is out, regardless of which team wins, then the rest of the rules don't make sense in context.

That is what I had implied, about it being the losing team. It was just not as clear as it should have been, I apologize.

Okay so our opponents scored two eliminations, before we eventually won the game.

What does that mean for the next game, I didn't really understand the explanation in the first post.
