I thought with some modifications, could this be turned into a 1v1 map? (so there will be 2 versions, 1v1 and multi player map)

I don't think it's necessary. If the normal map has starting positions for each player on one side for 1v1 then there is no need. Maybe xml limitates the starting positions for 1v1 in that case to 8. So also in multiplayer you would start with all your troops on one side...

Or you could just select two players for the map, the xml should set it up as a 1v1 map similar to how it would play out as a multi player map.

Is it posible to code the XML in a way that in 1v1 players start on each side ? and not random trown

what I saw in games which I played, it seems that it is possible to code various starting positions.

THat is very easy. Using the positions, I can programme 2 only with players getting only 1. This would mean in a 1v1 game, both players would start at opposite ends and in larger games, everyone would start everywhere. It is the same thing as my knights map.

That is what we are gonna do

I should try to find room for an explanation for 1v1 in the highly compressed legend?

No need. As soon as a 1v1 game is set up and both players get there troops, it will become obvious.
