Super Mario 3
All 9 worlds divided up as territories (but obviously more than 9)
Bonus for holding castles, coin ship, and maybe power ups?
who doesn't love Mario?
What do you think?
P.S: Same could be done for Zelda....

what, don't you see dim's draft? it has 1 territories with C (100) troops in it.
it's a 1 player map.

For the record, I've been planning a map somewhat like the world map on super mario 3, sans the copyrighted material... more like just taking influence from the visual style of video games of the time. I might start working on that at some point.
