I always thought the LOST island would make a good map:

Do something fun with the D.H.A.R.M.A. stations, maybe?

Well, the image isn't mine :-$ It was merely an idea.

Well, no dip. The names would be changed.

Changed to what?

It's just that it runs into the same issue a lot of these "copy-cat ideas" run into IMO... namely, that the recognizable names are a large part of the theme. If you remove the "Lost" from the "Lost island" you're left with "island", and then you have a map about "some island"...

But, hey, 99% of the worth of an idea is in the execution, so...

Its a cool source of inspiration. Also the old temple with the smoke monster, healing pool and time machine could play a role.

For the names we would need a recognizable alternative like in Midgart
Lost = Nowhereland
darma initiative = karma foundation
the Pearl = Monitoring Station
the Swan = Timeloop station
four toed statue = the foot
Black Rock = Black Stone (Black Pearl is Pirates of the Caribbean [c])
Ruseau's Camp = Jean-Jacques

I think even if it's just named "The Island" people will get it and it doesn't infringe on copyright (since it was just called "the island" anyway).

Th only way a lost map would work is if you never knew how much your bonus would be worth, and whenever you think you're going to find out the rules suddenly change. Also armies die for no reason, certain turns you take happen earlier in the game but don't change events later in the game, nothing makes sense, and when the game finally ends no one is satisfied.

Some elements from lost could be integrated in Marooned: (http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=583&t=146086)

Elements that are generic for marooned islands:
A crashed plane for supplies (+1 bonus),
indigenous tribes (bonus for uniting them),
    fishing places (auto deploy),
seeds, farm, storage room (bonus for holding this combination),
    hunting grounds (auto deploy),
dangerous animals (one-way assault hunting grounds),
stranded shipwreck with dynamite (killer neutral),
    reaching mainland (winning condition)

Instead of LOST you could call it DISORIENTED.

Or maybe 'UNABLE TO ESTABLISH ONE'S POSITION' ---that'd be a great title.

Um... where's the other island? The station (forget it's name right now) where Kate and Sawyer were held captive, where the polar bears came from? I noticed that little bit of trash in the ocean connected by the dotted line, but that's not substantial enough to be the other island.

And also, if you wanted to do a lost inspired map, just do a map of whichever hawaiian island it was on, rather than some oddly shaped mass of land in the water. I think it was on Oahu.

I love this idea. It would be an awfully small map though. Trying to think of how to expand it. Adding an LA inset perhaps?
