Toronto Map

A friend and I are interested in making a map of Toronto.

Toronto is one of the most multicultural cities in the world. It has many cultural regions that may serve as "continents", such as Little Italy, the Annex, etc. As well, the subway system intersects many of these regions, providing a means to travel from one end of the map to the other.

As an example, here is an image highlighting some of the regions within Toronto. It's a good image to get the regional concepts across, however we might extend the actual Conquer Club map north a bit more.

Here is an image of the subway line.

Ideas/suggestions are welcome. Also, this will be our first map, so tips and such are appreciated.

That would be pretty sweet! You gotta include the Island in there though! And maybe have bonuses (+1 autodeploy) for certain landmarks... CN Tower, Queens Park, ROM that sorta thing...

I'm all for it! To be able to highlight the smaller communities, we should keep the total boundaries between, say, St. Clair to the north, High Park to the west, and Coxwell to the east? We could pair that down a bit, too.

I love the idea.. and the suggestions by andrew and nick.... bonuses for landmarks is key, as are the islands...

also, i personally like it when there are regions on a map that have bounderies (mountains, rivers, whatever) that are protected... so maybe the river could be a non-attackable boundary, but have certain areas where it can be crossed... like around the area were post road crosses off the bayview extension as an example... make it slightly realistic lol

the other suggestion i have is the airport... if you extend the map such that you include pearson, that could serve as the naval superiority in the eastern hemisphere map... where if you control pearson (or even the islands airport for that matter) you could attack only certain targets.... put like 4 neutral on there, and make it so that you can only hold it for one turn

hahaha, I like the airport idea, although it clashes with the idea of restricting the city boundries. we could also use highways as a method of attacking from one side of the map to another (if necessary).

great idea overall!

For the airport- you could do it on Toronto Island. Call it Porter Domination and let it attack landmarks. Or is it too soon to be joking about flying things into the CN tower?

Landmarks for sure will be bonuses, we just need to make sure each "continent" has an appropriate landmark. wobird, you're right we need impassable boundaries. Perhaps Queen's Park, Trinity Bellwoods, and the DVP would work.

Screw -1, reduce to neutral 1.
